BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art. [0003] Hairs and scalp require uninterrupted right nutrition for steady and healthy growth, which may not be fulfilled from the diet. So, balanced nutrition must be therefore provided externally for their uninterrupted growth. The various hair creams present in the market contains several harmful chemical, preservatives and additives which may cause hair damage and scalp problems in long term use. [0004] Prior art formulations however either act as moisturizers to soften the skin or provide treatment for a variety of skin conditions. Also, most of the prior art skin care formulations also include ingredients that are not always environment friendly and are therefore economically unviable. Some of the prior art formulations also contain components that are ultimately harmful to the skin. [0005] Increasingly, the use of herbal products for manufacture of hair care compositions is on the rise. Haircare products having vegetable oils, plant extracts and the like are commonly used in this field.
[0006] Most commercially available products (creams, gels, lotions, etc.) possesses series of formulatory ingredients ranging from active ingredient to stabilizers, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors, etc. to enhance its aesthetic appeal and stability. Many of these products may be harsh, irritating or even harmful to the hair and skin or the user over time. Consumers are seeking skin
care products that are not only natural but also effective with little or no side effects.
[0007] Therefore, an alternative compositions for cosmetic effects and therapeutic effects must be studied and developed. This creates a great interest towards the possible effect of natural substances on antimicrobial, anti¬inflammatory, hair growth stimulating action, hair thinning and fall reducing actions in subjects.
[0008] Contemplated herein is a composition for treating skin conditions in a subject using a topical hair care composition. The formulated composition is a unique blend of essential oils, vitamin and ingredients used in hair care. [0009] The present invention satisfies the existing needs, as well as others, and generally overcomes the deficiencies found in the prior art.

Triethylamine, 5% Glycerol, and pharmaceutical grade water to make 100%.
[00104] In yet another embodiment, the present invention relates to a process
of preparing the herbal hair care composition comprising the following steps: a)
preparing phase 1 by melting waxes white bees wax, cocoa butter and other
ingredients as stearyl alcohol and cetyl alcohol in their decreasing order of
melting point on water bath; b) mixing of phase 1 with continuous stirring at
temperature of about 75°C; c) preparing phase 2 in a separate container by mixing
amla oil, coconut oil, sandalwood oil, vitamin E, olive oil, propylene glycol,
triethanolamine and glycerol at 75°C with continuous stirring; d) gradual addition
of phase 2 to the phase 1 solution drop by drop wise with continuous stirring ; (e)
performing continuous stirring the components become cool; (f) addition of
required quantity of distilled water; and (g) performing uniform mixing until a
semi-solid homogenous cream mass is obtained.
[00105] In an embodiment of the present invention, the herbal hair care
composition is bio-degradable and environment friendly.
[00106] In an embodiment, the herbal hair care composition of the present invention maybe used on the body part in any manner known to a person skilled in the art. EXAMPLES
[00107] The present disclosure is further explained in the form of following
examples. However, it is to be understood that the foregoing examples are merely
illustrative and are not to be taken as limitations upon the scope of the invention.
Various changes and modifications to the disclosed embodiments will be apparent
to those skilled in the art. Such changes and modifications may be made without
departing from the scope of the invention.
[00108] Example 1: Herbal hair care composition:
Herbal hair care composition comprising 4% White Bees Wax, 2% Cocoa Butter, 5% Stearyl alcohol, 4% Coconut oil, 5% Olive oil, 4% Almond oil, 2% Sandalwood oil, 6% Bhringraj oil, 6% Amla oil, 8-10% Propylene Glycol, 1% Vitamin E, 4% Triethylamine, 5% Glycerol, and pharmaceutical grade water to make 100
[00109] Example 2: A process of preparing the herbal hair care
composition:
a) Phase 1 were prepared by melting waxes white bees wax, cocoa butter and other ingredients as stearyl alcohol and cetyl alcohol in their decreasing order of melting point on water bath;
b) Mixing with continuous stirring and temperature were maintained up to 75°C;
c) Phase 2 was prepared in a separate container by mixing amla oil, coconut oil, sandalwood oil, vitamin E, olive oil, propylene glycol, triethanolamine and glycerol at 75°C with continuous stirring;
d) Gradual addition of phase 2 to the phase 1 solution (melted wax solution) drop by drop wise with continuous stirring;
(e) continuous stirring was performed until it becomes cool;
(f) Addition of required quantity of distilled water; and
(g) Uniform mixing was performed until a semi-solid homogenous cream mass
was obtained.
[00110] Example 3: Skin irritation testing of the herbal hair care composition:
Herbal composition as prepared in the Example 1 is made into 100 g pockets each and anonymously handed over to 5 male and 5 female subjects to test the adverse effects or skin irritancy of the composition. Each of the subjects were instructed to use 1.0 g of formulated cream on an area of 2 square inch to the back of subjects' hands. The subjects were observed for lesions, redness and irritation. None of the subjects reported of adverse effects or irritation while using or after using the composition.
[00111] Example 4: Viscosity of the herbal hair care composition: Brookfield viscometer was used for the measurement of viscosity of the prepared cream (Example 1). The Brookfield viscometer was rotated at 100 rpm, spindle no.6. Each reading was taken after equilibrium was attained by the sample at the end of two minutes. The study was repeated three times and average value was found to be 3822 cps. [00112] Example 5: Physical appearance of the herbal hair care
composition: The formulated cream as prepared using Example 1 was evaluated in terms of physical character like phase separation and change in color and odour. No visible changes in colour and odour observed.
[00113] Example 5: Homogeneity of the herbal hair care composition: Developed gel was tested for homogeneity by visual inspection after the cream was set in the container. It was tested for appearance and presence of any aggregates. No visible aggregates observed.
