Specification

The present invention relates to a skin care composition. Specifically, the present invention relates to an herbal skin care composition having anti-aging, antimicrobial, anti-oxidant, anti-wrinkle, anti-inflammatory, anti-pigment, sunscreen, moisturizing, conditioning, cleansing and exfoliating benefits. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art. [0003] Historically, many different compounds and formulations have been used for cleaning and restoring skin. A wide variety of skin care products are used to soften skin, repair lesions, combat dryness and reduce roughness in irritated skin. There are also a variety of creams or ointments that are used to reduce the itch from insect bites.
[0004] Prior art formulations however either act as moisturizers to soften the skin or provide treatment for a variety of skin conditions. Also most of the prior art skin care formulations also include ingredients that are not always environment friendly and are therefore economically unviable. Some of the prior art formulations also contain components that are ultimately harmful to the skin. [0005] Increasingly, the use of herbal products for manufacture of skin care compositions is on the rise. Skin repair products having soaps, detergents, plant extracts and the like are commonly used in this field.
[0006] Most commercially available products (creams, gels, lotions, scrubs, etc.) possesses series of formulatory ingredients ranging from active ingredient to stabilizers, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors, etc. to enhance its aesthetic appeal and stability. Many of these products may be harsh, irritating or even

harmful to the skin or the user over time. Consumers are seeking skin care products
that are not only natural but also effective with little or no side effects.
[0007] Therefore, an alternative compositions for cosmetic effects and skin
disorders must be studied and developed. This creates a great interest towards the
possible effect of natural substances on antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, oxidative
stress reducing action in these diseases.
[0008] Contemplated herein is a composition for treating skin conditions in a
subject using a topical skin care composition. For example, the composition can be
used to treat, reduce, or improve one or more signs of aging, e.g. wrinkles, dryness,
roughness, dullness, blotchiness, brown/dark/age spots, blemishes, and/or skin
sagging.
[0009] The present invention satisfies the existing needs, as well as others, and
generally overcomes the deficiencies found in the prior art.
