Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, torque limiter device comprising; a flange member 01, body portion 02 which is held by said flange member, a hardened hub member 03 located at the center of said body portion 02 , a cup member 04, a resilient means 05, adjustable grub screw 06, a ball member 07 mounted on said body portion 02 with the help of cup member 04 which is loaded in compression with the help of the said resilient means such as compression spring 05 and adjustable grub screw means 06. Said flange member 01 is rigidly mounted on a said body portion 02 with the help of four screws 08. An internal circlip 09 provided to prevent axial movement of said hardened hub member 03 located at the center of said body portion 02. Ashaft member 10 disposed in inner diameter of said hardened hub member 03. Inner diameter of said hub member 03 and outer diameter of said shaft member 10 having keyways for disposing a woodruff key or rectangle key 11. By using said torque limiter device, required torque is applied to the torque limiter and when . it is overloaded, it will slip and will give indication of overloading or jamming to protect shaft damage due to overloading. The present invention requires less load hence reduces efforts and setting up time and also it is safe and simple to operate.

PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
FIELD OF INVENSION
The present invention is related to Torque overload protection device and more particularly it relates to torque limiter device to protect shaft damage due to overloading.
BACKGROUND OF INVENSION
Generally for any mechanical screw jack mechanism, for lifting the loads or transfer of torque, the rated torque is given at the one end of the screw and is transmitted to the other end of the screw or the elements of the lifting mechanism. Sometimes due to overloading or jamming of lifting device, applied torque becomes more than the rated torque which causes the damage of the elements of said device. In order to protect the device from overloading and damage, one intermediate unit is developed, called as torque limiter. By using the present device, required torque is applied to the torque limiter and when it is overloaded, it will slip and will give indication of overloading or jamming.
OBJECTIVES OF INVENSION
The Main object of the present invention is to provide a torque limiter device to protect shaft
damage due to overloading.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a torque limiter device to protect shaft
damage due to overloading which reduces efforts and setting up time.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a torque imiter device to protect shaft
damage due to overloading which is safe and simple to operate.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
Torque limiter device comprising; a flange member, body portion which is held by said flange member, a hardened hub member located at the center of said body portion, a cup member, a resilient means, adjustable grub screw, a ball member is mounted on said body portion with the help of said cup member which is loaded in compression with the help of the said resilient means and adjustable grub screw.
Torque limeter device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein said flange member is rigidly mounted on a said body portion with the help of four screws.
Torque limeter device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein said body portion having an internal circlip to prevent axial movement of said hardened hub member.
Torque limeter device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein said hardened hub member is located at the center of the said body portion.
Torque limeter device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein said flange member having an integrated extended portion through which the rated torque is applied and said inner diameter of said hardened hub member having a shaft member disposed therethrough in such a way that when the torque is applied, said body portion is also being rotated.
Torque limeter device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein said inner diameter of said hub member and outer diameter of said shaft member having keyways for disposing a woodruff key or rectangle key,
Torque limeter device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein said resilient means is a compression spring.
Torque limeter device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein outer periphery of said hub member having a groove provided axially in diametrically opposite direction for disposing spring loaded said ball member.
Torque limeter device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein compression load on said spring is adjusted with the help of adjustable grub screw and said spring loaded ball members and number of rows of said spring loaded ball members can be increased to increase limiting value of torque.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION
Referring now to the drawings wherein the showings are for the purpose of illustrating a preferred embodiment of the invention only, and not for the purpose of limiting the same, Now referring to figure-01 to figure -07, In accordance with the present invention, torque limiter device comprising; a flange member 01; body portion 02 which is held by said flange member; a hardened hub member 03 located at the center of said body portion 02 ; a cup member 04; a resilient means 05; adjustable grub screw 06; a ball member 07 is mounted on said body portion 02 with the help of cup member 04 which is loaded in compression with the help of the said resilient means such as compression spring 05 and adjustable grub screw means 06;
Said flange member 01 is rigidly mounted on a said body portion 02 with the help of four screws 08; an internal circlip 09 provided to prevent axial movement of said hardened hub
member 03 located at the center of said body portion 02; a shaft member 10 , to which the
rated torque is to be applied, disposed in a internal diameter of said hardened hub member
03; inner diameter of said hub member 03 and outer diameter of said shaft member 10
having keyways for disposing a woodruff key or rectangle key 11.
Said flange member 01 enables to hold the said body portion 02 and turn/rotate it with a
required torque is used. Said flange member 01 is rigidly mounted on a body portion 02 with
the help of four screws 08. The said ball member 07 is mounted on said body portion 02
with the help of said cup member 04 which is loaded in compression with the help of the
compression spring 05 and adjustable grub screw 06.
Said hardened hub member 03 is located at the center of the said body portion 02 and the
axial movement of the said hub 03 is restricted by means of said internal circlip 09,
The outer periphery of the hub member 03 having a groove provided axially in diametrically
opposite direction for disposing spring loaded said ball member 07.
The Internal diameter of the said hub member 03 is suitable for disposing the said shaft
member 10, to which the rated torque is to be applied.
On the inner diameter of hub 03, a keyway is provided to suit woodruff key or rectangle key
11, similar slot to accommodate key 11 is provided on the outer diameter of the said shaft
member 10.
Said flange member 01 is connected to said body member 02 with the help of said screw
08.
Said flange member 01 having an integrated extended portion 01a through which the rated
torque is applied. As the torque is applied to the said flange 01 through said extended
portion 01a, the said body portion 02 is also being rotated.
As the said body portion 02 is rotated, the said ball (07) which is under compression will
transmit the torque to the said hub member 03 and is further transmitted to the said shaft
member 10 through said key 11,
The value of the torque transmitted through said hub member 03 to said shaft member 10 is
dependant upon the compression load applied on the said ball member 07 by the said compression spring 05.
The compression load on said spring 05 is adjusted with the help of adjustable grub screw
06.
As the overload condition occurs due to any reason other than rated load, the said ball member 07 will try to lift the spring loaded cup 04 and come out from the groove provided
on the hub member 03.
The ball member 07 will just slide on the periphery of hub 03 till the next groove, and will
again come out of the slot and will roll/slide on the plain periphery of said hub member 03.
Hence slippage will occur between the body portion 02 and the said hub member 03. Due to slippage, Overloading and damage of the said shaft member 10 is avoided and investigation can be made to find out the causes.
Said spring loaded ball member 07 can be increased in multiplication of two for increasing
the limiting value of torque as shown in Figure-06 and figure-07.To increase limiting value of
torque, the said spring loaded ball members 07 can be increased in multiplication of two as
shown in figure-06 and the number of rows of said spring loaded ball members 07 can be
increased as shown in figure-07.

It should be appreciated that this embodiment is described for purpose of illustration only, and that numerous alterations and modifications may be practiced by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is intended that all such modifications and alterations be included insofar as they come within the scope of the invention as claimed or the equivalents thereof.
We claim
1. Torque timiter device comprising; a flange member, body portion which is held by said flange member, a hardened hub member located at the center of said body portion, a cup member, a resilient means, adjustable grub screw, a ball member is mounted on said body portion with the help of said cup member which is loaded in compression with the help of the said resilient means and adjustable grub screw.
2. Device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said flange member is rigidly mounted on a said body portion with the help of four screws.
3. Device as claimed in claim land 2, wherein said body portion having an internal
circlip to prevent axial movement of said hardened hub member.
4. Device as claimed in claim 1 and 3, wherein said hardened hub member is located at the center of the said body portion.
5. Device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said flange member having an integrated extended portion through which the rated torque is applied and inner diameter of said hardened hub member having a shaft member disposed therethrough in such a way that when the torque is applied, said body portion is also being rotated.
6. Device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said inner diameter of said hub member and outer diameter of said shaft member having keyways for disposing a woodruff key or rectangle key.
7. Device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said resilient means is a compression spring.
8. Device as claimed in claim 1, wherein outer periphery of said hub member having a groove provided axially in diametrically opposite direction for disposing spring loaded said ball member.
9. Device as claimed in claim 1 and 7, wherein compression load on said spring is adjusted with the help of adjustable grub screw and said spring loaded ball members and number of rows of said spring loaded ball members can be increased to increase limiting value of torque.
