COMPLETE SPECIFICATION
TRACTOR WITH MULTI SPEED POWER TAKE OFF Field of invention;
The present invention relates to power take off system for motor driven vehicle engaged in agricultural and construction work for the purposes of hauling a trailer or machinery. More particularly, the invention relates to a power take off system for agricultural tractor, in which the power take off shaft is projected from the rear end of the transmission case which in turn has a Power take off shaft speed mechanism for changing the number of rotations.
Background of the invention;
Agricultural tractors are generally provided with at least one power take off shaft in order that implements such as rotary harrows, fertilizer spreaders, sprayer pumps, balers etc. may be driven. Implement manufacturers now manufacture tractors and implements to run at one of three standard speeds namely 540 rpm, lOOOrpm and ground speed. The term" ground speed" means that the rate of rotation of the power take off shaft is proportional to the speed at which the tractor travels across the ground.
Since implements are manufactured to these standards, it is necessary for tractors to be provided with power take off shafts which rotate at the required speed. Power Take off gear trains have been developed which provide for the selection of different speeds such as lOOOrpm, 540rpm and ground speed. Clearly, in case of fixed rotation speed i.elOOO rpm or 540 rpm , this can only be achieved at certain engine speed. The manufacturer selects this method and usually a speed towards maximum engine speed is selected thereby permitting engine speed to fall as load on the power take off shaft increases.
-1^

Where the load on power take off shaft is relatively low, the torque back up provided by running the engine at a high speed is not required.. It is therefore, not efficient not to run the engine at very high speed but this is required in order for power take off shaft to rotate at required speed. In order to overcome this problem, manufacturers often provide 540 rpm economy power take off shaft. The gear train is arranged such that power take off shaft runs at 540rpm with an engine speed of about two thirds the maximum speed and as such the tractor's fuel economy improves axed the engine is quieter.
Gear trains for power take off shafts, where the power take off shaft can be selectively engaged to rotate at 540 rpm, 1000 rpm or ground speed or 540 rpm economy are known. In one known gear trains, separate power take off shafts are provided. Rated speed means the engine speed at which power take off runs at the specified speed in revolutions per minute.
Some of the relevant prior art have been discussed herein below:
US patent 6523429 relates to gear reduction assembly wherein a set of gears with casing and locking means is provided. The said locking means alternately locks one casing with another and simultaneously releasing one casing from another for achieving low speed ratio drive between input and output shafts.
US patent No. 3561277 relates to combination of driven shaft of gear reduction assembly with a motor drive. The said gear train enclosed within a housing and such gear train comprises a toothed circular rack fixed within housing, a motor driven worm, a worm wheel mounted upon the driven shaft, a pinion in mesh with the rack and mounted upon an axle projecting laterally from the worm wheel. Teeth of the circular rack are in mesh with the teeth of the pinions and upon the rotation of the worm wheel by the worm the pinions are made to
-3-

revolve about the circular rack whereby rotation is imparted to the said pinions. The low ratio drive is obtained with the help of clutch engagement between the sleeve and pinion.
All of the above stated prior arts fail to provide the power take off speed mechanism which serves the variety of rotational speeds through the road speed change transmission corresponding to the engine rated speed.
The present invention in particular is designed so as to improve the conventional tractor in which the same power take off shaft has driven through all the number of gears for different 12 clockwise 85 08 Anti clockwise rotational speeds when the Tractor wheels are in steady stop conditions which improvement is referred to as multi speed power take off in respect of agricultural tractor engine. The present invention further provides a simplified operating lever to control the driving speed system 8G reverse/forward movement of tractor at the right 85 left side of operator seat and hence to improve the driving efficiency of operator as well as tractor with a parallel lever for quick changing of reverse/forward movement. The invention further provides a tractor tractor transmission comprising a change speed mechanism, a hift lever for shifting the movement of tractor to reverse or forward . An overdrive gear for accelarating the tracor speed shifting with ordinary speed change lever is also provided.
3. Objective of Invention:
The main object of the present invention is to provide for a power take off system to improve the conventional tractor in which the same power take off shaft has driven through all the number of gears for different 12 clockwise 85 08 Anti clockwise rotational speeds when the Tractor wheels are in steady stop conditions which improvement is referred to as multi speed power take off in respect of agricultural tractor engine.

Another object of the invention is to provide a power take off speed mechanism which serves the variety of rotational speeds through the road speed change transmission corresponding to the engine rated speed.
Another object of the invention is to provide a simplified operating lever to control the driving speed system 85 reverse/forward movement of tractor at the right 85 left side of operator seat and hence to improve the driving efficiency of operator as well as tractor with a parallel lever for quick changing of reverse/forward movement
