Abstract: The present invention discloses a transport device for safe and easy transportation of Electro Hydraulic Governing rack assembly of a 200/210 MW Steam turbine. The said device consists of a pipe (1), a flat steel plate (2) and two supporting plates (3), all being welded to form a single unit. The pipe (1) is disposed in the holes (8) of the supporting plate (3). A plurality of ribs (4) are also welded with the flat (2) and pipe (1) for providing more rigidity to the welded structure. The supporting plate (3) is a L-shaped structure having holes on the flange (9) matching the holes of EHG rack assembly for fixing with fasteners when the EHG rack assembly is disposed in between the two supporting plates (3) for required transportation. The whole unit is lifted by crane through holes (6) disposed on the flat (2). Gasket is provided in between the flange of EHG rack assembly and supporting plates (2) to prevent damage of the said assembly.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to a transport device for safe and easy transportation of Electro Hydraulic Governing rack assembly of a 200/210 MW Steam turbines.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In the existing 200/210 MW steam turbine Hydro-mechanical type governing system was used and hence there was no requirement of electro hydraulic governing (EHG) rack assembly and therefore there was no requirement of a transport device.
With the development of Electro-hydraulic governing in 200/210 MW design Steam Turbine, the necessity for EHG Rack Assembly has arisen. EHG rack assembly is the assembly for very critical governing equipment such as Electro-hydraulic converter, Cartridge valve assembly, Duplex oil filter & Solenoid valves along with other piping system. The safe movement of EHG rack assembly is utmost important for proper functioning of various governing equipment.
In view of requirement of safe movement of EHG rack assembly, this transport device has been developed.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
Therefore, it is an object of the invention to propose a transport device for safe and easy transportation of Electro Hydraulic Governing rack assembly of a 200/210 MW Steam turbines, which is capable of easy and safe movement and placement of the said EHG rack assembly in machine shop and project site.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
The transport device (D) for safe and easy movement of electro hydraulic governing (EHG) rack assembly of a steam turbine consists of a pipe (1) welded (8) to a flat steel plate (2) so that pipe (1) and flat (2) becomes a single unit. The pipe is then inserted into the holes (8) of two mild steel plates (3) disposed for supporting the pipe (1). The pipe (1) is welded to the supporting plates (3) near the holes (8) on both side of plates when the pipe (1) is extended beyond the plates for making the construction rigid. To provide additional rigidity and support a plurality of ribs (6) (at least four in numbers)
are also welded with the Flat (2) and pipe (1) on both sides and this increase the strength for lifting the whole unit (D). The Flat (2) has two holes (6) that facilitates the lifting of the complete unit (D) by crane or some suitable hoisting device. The supporting plates (3) are having a ‘L’ shaped structure. Lower end of supporting plate (3) is having a flange-shape structure and has six number of holes to match with EHG rack assembly. In order to lift the EHG rack assembly (7), the EHG rack is assembled with the supporting plates (3) through fasteners from both ends. Since supporting plate (3), pipe (1) and flat plate (2) are welded with each other, the EHG rack assembly is lifted by the crane through holes (6) made in the flat (2). A gasket (5) is provided in between the flange (9) of EHG rack assembly (7) and supporting plate (3) on both sides in order to prevent any kind of damage to the EHG rack assembly (7).
WE CLAIM
1. A transport device for safe and easy transportation of Electro Hydraulic Governing
rack assembly of a 200/210 MW Steam turbine, the said transport device comprising;
a pipe (1) welded (10) to a flat steal plate (2), the said welded pipe (1) and flat (2) forming a single unit;
the said pipe and flat unit welded to two L-shaped supporting plates (3), the said pipe (1) being inserted into the holes (8) of the supporting plates (3) for welding with the said supporting plates (3) making the pipe (1), flat (2) and plate (3) a single unit;
a plurality of ribs (4) welded to the flat (2) and pipe (1) unit for providing rigidity and strength for lifting;
a plurality of holes matching with EHG rack assembly (7) disposed in a flange shaped (9) structure in the lower end of the L-shaped supporting plates (3) for fixing the EHG rack assembly (7) being fixed in between the flanges (9) of the plates (3) by fasteners through holes disposed on the flange (9) of the supporting plate (3) when gaskets (5) are provided in between the flange (9) of EHG rack assembly (7) and the supporting plate (3) on both sides for preventing damage of EHG rack assembly (7), wherein two holes (6) are disposed on the flat (2) for facilitating lifting of the whole unit (D) by crane or other hoisting device.
2. The transport device as claimed in claim 1, wherein number of ribs disposed are four and number of holes on the flange are six.
