Tyre Inflation Device

Abstract: A tyre inflation device comprises of flexible hose( 1), pressure gauge (2), air tight chamber( 3), small "V " belt (4), big pulley (5), small pulley (6) and inlet/intake air (7) . The big pulley and small pulley are connected by a small "V" belt. The flexible hose is fixed to the deflated tyre. When the vehicle"s engine starts the vehicle will be in the standing position and the gear will be in neutral position. The atmospheric air enters into the inlet port of the bottom crank case of the big pulley. The sucked atmospheric air then enters into the air tight chamber which compresses the air. The compressed air is send to the outlet through flexible hose which is fixed to the deflated front/back tyre for inflating the tyre. The vehicle"s engine is stopped once the pressure is attained.

Complete specification
Tyre inflation device
Field of the invention:-
The present invention relates to the inflating tyres for the deflated tyre with the help tyre inflation device which is attached to the vehicle.
Objective of the invention:-
The main objective of the present invention is to develop and fabricate air which can be filled into deflated tube by a tyre inflation device attached with the vehicle.
The second objective of the present invention is that it is less cost and less time consuming. The correlation of the tyre inflation device to the engine's vehicle is less complicated.
Another objective of the invention is that the filling up of the air is done with less effort without using a foot pump and the pressure also can be checked periodically.
Background of the invention:-
In India, the vehicle population is growing at rate of over 5% per aimum and today the vehicle population is approximately 40 million. The vehicle mix is also unique to India were there is a very high proportion of two wheelers (76%).
In the recent days, the sale of automotive vehicles is increasing. During the travel in a two wheeler there is a chance of tyre getting punctured or deflated due to sharp materials on the road. When a front or rear wheel getting punctured the rider has to search for the motorcycle service shop for vulcanizing it. If the shop is nearby pushing the vehicle won't cause much damage to the tyre or tube, but if it is far from the place where the vehicle gets punctured there is a

possibility of damage to tyre and tube also. In this case deflated tyres becomes a crisis as the service centers are few and far on the highways and on remote areas.
Deflation of the tyres may also be caused by the road spike tyre deflation system (traffic spikes, tire shredders, one-way traffic treadles, and stingers). Taking this problem into consideration the present invention has been developed and fabricated so that air can be filled up in the punctured tube with a small attachment with the vehicle itself and the vehicle can be driven for some distance so that the rider can save the time in pushing the vehicle and also the damage to the tube or tyre can be avoided. This can be best suitable for Tuff tubes used recently in Honda Activa scooter, Honda Unicorn, Honda Shine, Honda sturmer, Scooty Pep etc and can also be used for tubeless tyres.
This technology can be incorporated in two wheelers so that in emergency situations the people can make use of it. Even the filling up of air is done with less effort, without using a foot pump. It is necessary to check the air pressure of the vehicle often when the wheels are cold. This can be checked with the help of pressure gauge. The pressure of the tyre should be checked periodically. This invention consists of pressure gauge which enables to check the pressure periodically.
Description of the prior art:-
No such closest prior art is available to the present invention. However US patent No: 10464991 describe the "Tire inflation device" where one end of the non-return valve is attached to the spark plug hole of the engine cylinder with screw threads and the other end is attached to the tyre tube. It is used only for two-wheelers having self start or auto start mechanism. This device uses the compressor of the two wheeler into an air pump.
The engine will be switched off and manually the air is filled up by using the kick starter. The pressure is passed to the tubes by continuously self starting the vehicle and thus the tyre gets inflated. This method is done using the kick

starter. Whereas in the present invention a separate compressor is attached to the vehicle. Once the engine is started the vehicle will be in standing position and the gear is in neutral position, the atmospheric air pressure is passed to the deflated tube. The present invention does not require the spark plug hole and therefore this tyre inflation device will work in the entire two, three and four wheeler vehicles. This device can be fitted to all the vehicles whereas the above said prior invention device is used only for self start and two wheeler vehicle.
Summary of the invention:-
A tyre inflation device is attached to two or four wheeler vehicles except a big tear in the tube vehicle. This device comprises of flexible hose, pressure gauge, big pulley, small pulley, small "V" belt and airtight chamber. The big pulley and small pulley are connected by a small "V" belt. The flexible hose is fixed to the deflated tyre.
When the vehicle's engine starts where the vehicle will be in the standing position. The atmospheric air enters/sucked in to the inlet port of the bottom crank case of the big pulley. The sucked atmospheric air enters into the air tight chamber which compresses the air. The compressed air is sent to the outlet through flexible hose which is fixed to the deflated front/back tyre for inflating the tyre. The Pressure gauge shows the pressure reading of tyre inflation and the engine is stopped once pressure is attained.
The tyre inflation device has another advantage to store the air and can be used for air brake system, air suspension system and spray painting without the use of current.
Detailed description of the invention:-
The present invention is a process which develops compressed air which can be filled into the deflated tyres or tubes when the vehicle is idle.

Air tight compression chamber:
Air tight compression chamber is made up of a cylinder and piston assembly of two stroke engine which is used by converting it into air tight chamber. Inlet port is used as the inlet for the atmospheric air to enter into the air tight compression chamber and outlet will be through hole in the head chamber
The air tight chamber is fitted with the frame of the vehicle by the bracket support. The intake air is taken from the bottom of the crank case. The piston moves up and down inside the cylinder which compresses the air and the air flows out through the outiet flexible hose. The flexible hose is coimected to a pressure gauge through an adapter which is fixed to the head of the air tight chamber. This pressure gauge indicates the pressure while inflating the air in the tube.
While inflating the air in the tube the engine is started and gear (device) is in neutral. Air is sucked through the intake port through the crank case, it is compressed and the output is taken through the flexible hose. The accessory of tyre iriflation device with the vehicle doesn't make much difference in its appearance and also in the weight of the vehicle.
Pulleys:
There are two types of Pulleys namely big pulley and small pulley is connected together by a small "V" belt. The big pulley is attached to the crank shaft bottom end of the connecting rod of the air tight chamber and small pulley at the Left Hand side of the crank shaft. After making some alterations in the engine crankshaft, the small pulley is cormected at the Left Hand crank shaft. A small "V" belt is kept ready in the vehicle's tool kit.
Flexible hose with pressure gauge: A flexible hose and pressure gauge is attached with the adapter which is fixed to the head of the air tight chamber. The pressure gauge is used to check tyre inflation. It can be checked periodically.

Brief Description of the Drawings:-
Fig 1 shows the construction of the tube inflation device
Fig 2 shows the small pulley attached to the cross section of the crank case.
Detailed Description of the Drawings:-
Referring to Fig 1, the construction of the tube inflation device shows that
a flexible hose (1) with pressure gauge (2) is attached with the adapter attached with the outlet port provided at the head of the air tight chamber (3). Pulleys are attached with the bottom end of the connecting rod in the air tight chamber and Left Hand side of the crank shaft. The small V belt (4) will be connected above the big pulley (5) and the small pulley (6). The intake air (7) is taken from the bottom of the crank case.
Referring to Fig 2, the small pulley (6) is fixed to the engine's main crarJc shaft left hand side.
