Abstract: This uninterruptible power supply device is provided with: a semiconductor switch (1) that is connected between a bypass AC power supply (11) and a load (14), that is turned on when the bypass AC power supply is operational, and that is turned off when a bypass AC power supply is interrupted; and an inverter (8) that supplies, to the load, an AC power provided from an AC power supply (13) or obtained by converting a DC power supplied from a battery (13), when the bypass AC power supply is interrupted, and that supplies, to the load, an assist current (Ia) for the difference between a load current (IL) and a threshold current (Ith) when the load current is greater than the threshold current at a time of the bypass AC power supply being operational. Accordingly, even when the load current increases due to load fluctuation, a current flowing through the semiconductor switch can be maintained at or below the threshold current.
