Variable Pitch Fan Pitch Range Limiter

Abstract: A variable pitch fan (38) for gas turbine engine is provided. The variable pitch fan (38) includes a plurality of fan blades (40) rotatably coupled to a disk (42) and an actuation assembly for changing a pitch of each of the plurality of fan blades (40). The actuation assembly generally includes an actuation member operably connected to at least one of the plurality of fan blades (40) and a pin (142). The pin (142) is movable between a first position in which the pin (142) is positioned at least partially in a channel (136) defined in the actuation member, and a second position. The pin (142) blocks movement of the actuation member relative to the pin (142) past a range defined by the channel (136) when in the first position. The actuation assembly further includes a retraction system (146) for selectively engaging the pin (142) in moving the pin (142) from the first position to the second position. Fig.l
