The vehicle (100) comprising a body frame (130) comprises a head tube (132); a down tube (134) extends downwards and rearwards from the head tube (132); a cross tube (136) connected to the down tube (134), the cross tube (136), extends in a width direction of the vehicle (100); a right rear tube (138) extending rearwardly in upward direction from the cross tube (136); a left rear tube (137) extending rearwardly in upward direction from the cross tube (136); and at least portion of a first plate member (200) attached to one of the right rear tube (138) & the left rear tube and at least portion of the first plate member (200) attached with the cross tube (136), the first plate member (200) having a connection point (202).

Specification

The present invention relates to two wheeled vehicles and, more particularly, to a foot rest member of a two wheeled vehicle. BACKGROUND [0002] A vehicle, particularly vehicle configured to be ridden such as motorized scooter, motorcycle, three-wheeled vehicle, and four wheeled vehicle such as all-terrain vehicles, include an internal combustion engine or a power generating motor and a body frame of the vehicle, the power generated by the internal combustion engine or by the power generating motor is transferred to wheels and other auxiliary components of the vehicle. The internal combustion engine or the power generating motor is carried by the frame of the vehicle. Typically, the frame includes a pivotal swing arm that rotatably supports a rear wheel. Further, the swing arm supports one or more rear suspension devices and other vehicle components. The swing arm is generally formed by left and right arms to which a wheel axle of the rear wheel is coupled to a rear side, and front side of the swing arm is hingably supported to a vehicle body frame. [0003] The footrest is an important component of the vehicle, and is required to have required level of strength both for ensuring its proper functioning and strength related requirements that may exist. Such strength and durability requirements from the footrest may be difficult to achieve, in cases the footrest is mounted on the side of the frame that is experiencing higher amount of loads and stresses otherwise also. [0004] Patent number EP2017171B1 discloses a footrest that includes a bracket to be attached to a body frame. The bracket includes a flange extending inside of an exterior cover disposed adjacent to the bracket. The flange has a support section for supporting the inner side of the exterior cover. Since, the footstep is removably mounted to the rear frame only, entire load of the foot rest is transferred on the rear frame member. SUMMARY OF INVENTION [0005] In one aspect of the present invention, a vehicle is provided. The vehicle comprising: a body frame comprises: a head tube; a down tube extends downwards and rearwards from the head tube; a cross tube connected to the down tube, the cross tube, extends in a width direction of the vehicle; a right rear tube extending rearwardly in upward direction from the cross tube; a left rear tube extending rearwardly in upward direction from the cross tube; and at least portion of a first plate member attached to one of the right rear tube & the left rear tube and at least portion of the first plate member attached with the cross tube, the first plate member having a connection point; a swing arm swingably connected to the first plate member at the connection point on the first plate member; and a support member extending between the first plate member and one of the right rear tube and the left rear tube with the cross tube. [0006] The support member is coupled to the first plate member at the connection point, and wherein the first plate member is connected at junction of the right rear tube with the cross tube. [0007] The support member includes a first support member connected to the first plate member at the connection point, and a second support member connected to the right rear tube. [0008] The right rear tube includes a bottom portion connected to the support member, a bent portion and a rearward extending portion. [0009] The second support member is connected the right rear tube at the bent portion thereof. [00010] In an embodiment, the vehicle further includes a foot rest member hingedly connected to the support member. [00011] The foot rest member hingedly connected to the first support member of the support member. [00012] The first plate member is sandwiched between the first support member and the pivot point of the swing arm, and connection point of each of the first plate member, the first support member and the swing arm is co-liner. [00013] The support member further includes an intermediate stay connected to one of the first support member and the second support member. [00014] The foot rest member hingedly connected to one of the first support member and the second support member.
