Vehicle Accident Prevention Using Eye Wink And Over Speed Control

Abstract: The present invention relates to "VEHICLE ACCIDENT PREVENTION USING EYE-WINK AND OVER-SPEED CONTROL" has two objectives in it. The two objectives are: 1) Accident Prevention Using Eye-Wink 2) Controlling the speed of the vehicle The first objective is to prevent accidents which are happening in extreme due to the drowsiness of drivers. There are a lot of parameters which can be discussed to prevent accidents but eye-wink provides a more efficient technique to prevent the accidents. The blinking of eye will help to check out whether the driver is feeling sleepy or not. When the driver sleeps, then there will not be any eye-blink. Obviously, there will not be any input to the microcontroller and thus the vehicle will be stopped automatically according to the program inside 8051 microcontroller. Once the vehicle is stopped, the driver needs to get awake. This is done with the help of siren and vibration. Siren gives an alarm sound which wakes him up and vibration is kept under the seat which gives him the needed shock to wake up. The second objective is to control the speed of the vehicle if the driver over- speeds. There will be a limit for the speed of the vehicle which the driver knows before he starts to drive. When the driver starts to over-speed that limit knowingly or unknowingly, then the vehicle will be slowed down to that limit. This will be alarmed by a siren sound. By that alarm sound, the driver will be warned not to drive the vehicle more than the speculated speed.

Specification

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to the simple and effective idea for accident prevention in vehicles using the eyewink and controlling the over-speed of vehicles.

Background of the Invention

Driving over the speed limits chosen by the traffic control bodies is also a major cause of accidents. Driving at the given speed limit allows the driver to respond efficiently to sudden emergencies like sudden stop, on-road obstacle, or even an unexpected collision. Exceeding the speed limit directly reduces the driver's response time, which further leads to an accident.

Objective of the Invention
The two objectives which are discussed here is:
Accident Prevention Using Eye-Wink
Controlling the speed of the vehicle

Summary of the Invention

Transmitter section

We have used three buttons to show the speed of the vehicle. First button when pressed just starts the vehicle and moves it in a normal speed. Next button when pressed gives the vehicle a needed acceleration and moves in a medium speed. Finally, the last button is for accelerating the thrust of the vehicle and it is termed as high speed. This is the input which is fed into the encoder (HT12E) along with the input of eye-wink. The piezo-electric plate notes down even the simple vibrations and the eye-blink of people are easily found out. This input is fed along with the vehicle speed into the encoder (HT12E). The input is sent to the receiver side with the help of RF Transmitter. The RF Transmitter has an antenna which helps in transmitting data to the receiver side in a wireless fashion. The input from the sensor is fed into transmitter section in Serial in Parallel out (SIPO) format. LCD is used to display the speed in which the car moves. The transmitter successfully transmits data to the receiver side in a wireless manner.

Receiver section
The receiver section receives the input in Parallel in Serial out (PISO) format. The received data is in encoded format. It needs to be decoded and it is done with the help of decoder (HT12D). The decoded data is sent to the microcontroller where the program is already embedded with the help of flash downloader. The programming is done in this format:

If the driver snoozes when the vehicle is moving in medium speed, then the vehicle is stopped immediately. If the driver slumbers when the vehicle is moving in high speed, then a buzzer and vibration is given to wake up the driver and vehicle is stopped obviously. The above two steps provide the accident prevention technique. If the driver is moving in high speed then the vehicle is slowed down to the appropriate speed as mentioned. This prevents the over-speeding of the vehicle. The receiver is able to get the data wirelessly and perform the needed operation in a successful manner. This Project can effectively prevent the large number of accidents happening in the roadways. Thus it can do the following wonders:

Detect and intimate the user when he slumbers. Detect and intimate the user about the over speed. This project thus proposes a simple, elegant, and Cost beneficial multipurpose application, that can be integrated with any kind of system. Hence this Project shows a vision for a new and smart way for Accident prevention.
Brief description of the drawings
Figure 1.Block Diagram of vehicle accident prevention using eye - wink and over speed control.
The block diagram consists of transmitter section and receiver section. The transmitter section transmits the data to the receiver side and it calculates the eye- wink according to the program. Thus it provides the needed output according to the program. Buzzer is used to wake up the driver if he snoozes and motor control circuit is used to control the speed of the vehicle.
The figure contains following (1) AT 89c51 MCU , (2) Power supply, (3) Buffer, (4) Buzzer, (5) Eye wink sensor, (6) RF Tx(Transmitter) , (7) RF Rx ( Receiver), (8) Motor control unit, (9) Motor -1.
