Abstract: Described invention describes a mounting structure of the vehicle information unit on handle bar assembly of the motorcycle. Said vehicle information unit is mounted on the handle bar through handle bar clamp that is mounted over the upper portion of a triple clamp. Said triple clamp is mounted between left and right front suspension unit and connecting them with the handle bar assembly.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention generally relates to a mounting structure of a vehicle information unit in a motorcycle and more particularly to the mounting structure of the vehicle information unit on handle bar assembly of the motorcycle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Generally, in motorcycles vehicle information unit is mounted on the headlamp housing ahead of the handle bar assembly. During riding the vehicle rider is normally at a position such that vision angle remains on the road. Due to this speedometer goes down the vision angle and in order to adjust visibility with respect to the speedometer rider has to adjust body angle by bending forward or by looking down while riding. While riding the vehicle continuous bending over the vehicle causes fatigue for the rider.
In order to address this issue, this invention discloses a solution that ensures visibility angle for the road and the speedometer remains same and hence discomfort while riding can be minimised.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Main objective of this invention is to provide a vehicle information unit mounting mechanism in order to address above mentioned issues. Handle bar assembly of the motorcycle is supported on the handle bar clamp. This handle bar clamp is further fixed on a triple clamp that is supporting a front suspension unit. As a primary embodiment of the invention the vehicle information unit is fixed with the handle bar clamp at primary joints.
Mentioned handle bar clamp has a rear part and a front part fixed together and forms a cavity and said rear part is fixed with the triple clamp of the front suspension unit. The handle bar assembly passes through said cavity and supported by it at secondary mounting joints.
Summary provided above explains the basic features of the invention and does not limit the scope of the invention. Additional detailed information related to the enablement of the invention will be provided in the detailed description and accompanying claims. Scope of the invention shall be based on the claims provided.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given herein below and the accompanying drawing(s). Provided drawings are incorporated in and constitute embodiments of the invention and illustrates several aspects of the invention and together with a description of the embodiments serve to explain the principles of the invention. Drawings given below "are provided to support the description of the invention'and are not limiting the scope of the present invention. A brief description of the drawing is as follows:
Figure 1 is depicting the embodiments of the motorcycle related to the claimed invention with a focus on the location of vehicle information unit in line with the claimed mounting mechanism.
Figure 2 is an exploded view to show the mounting arrangement of essential embodiments of the invention.
Figure 3 and Figure 4 show the assembly details of the vehicle information unit above the handle bar assembly.
Figure 5 depicts a mounting arrangement of an enabling embodiment of the claimed invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The embodiments disclosed below are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed in the following detailed description. Rather, the embodiments are chosen and described so that best enabling arrangements of the invention can be explained through all possible embodiments and examples of it. The invention may have application to all kind of two wheeled vehicles.
Figure 1 depicts a motorcycle M explaining important embodiments of the invention in line with the claimed mounting mechanism. As shown in the top view, handle bar assembly 100 is located in the space available behind the headlamp assembly 106 and ahead of the fuel tank 103 and is fixed with the triple clamp 108 that is supporting the front suspension unit 105. Said handle bar assembly 100 is fixed with the triple clamp 108 through a handle bar clamp 104.
Further, as shown in Figure 2 said front suspension unit 105, left and right, is linked with each otheT through triple clamp 108. This is also acting as a mounting base for the handle bar assembly 100. Vehicle information unit 102 of motorcycle M is mounted on the handle bar assembly 100 through upper end of a handle bar clamp 104. This handle bar clamp 104 is fixed with said triple clamp 108 and is acting as the mounting base for handle bar assembly 100.
As shown in Figure 3, Figure 4 and Figure 5, vehicle information unit 102 is fixed with the handle bar clamp 104 at primary joints 104a, 104b. This handle bar clamp 104 has a rear part R and a front part F fixed together and are forming cavities C. Said rear part R is fixed with the triple clamp 108 of the front suspension unit 105. The handle bar clamp 104 is holding the handle bar assembly 100 through said cavities C at multiple secondary joints 104c.
Said vehicle information unit 102 is mounted at multiple mounting points 104a, 104b on the handle bar clamp 104 through different mounting means. This mounting can be done through one or more mounting brackets fixed at one or more location on the handle bar clamp 104. Also said mounting of vehicle information unit 102 can be done through screw mounting or by press fit as per the requirement of the vehicle packaging.
WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
A vehicle information unit mounting mechanism for a motorcycle comprising: a handle bar assembly supported on a handle bar clamp such that the handle bar clamp is fixed on a triple clamp supporting a front suspension unit; characterized in that a vehicle information unit is fixed with the handle bar clamp at atleast one primary joint.
The vehicle information unit mounting mechanism, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said handle bar clamp comprises a rear part and a front part fixed together to define at least one cavity.
The vehicle information unit mounting mechanism, as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2, wherein the handle bar assembly pass through said cavity.
The vehicle information unit mounting mechanism, as claimed in claim 1 and claim 2, the rear part of the handle bar clamp is fixed with the triple clamp.
The vehicle information unit mounting mechanism, as claimed in claim 1, wherein the primary joint defines atleast one mounting point such that the vehicle information unit is fixed with the handle bar clamp through said mounting points.
