There is disclosed a vented-type leak-resistant motor cycle battery comprising :a housing (1) in which a plurality of cells (C1 to C6) are mounted, a battery cover (2), heat-sealed to the upper end of the housing so that it overlies the cells, having vent chambers (16 to 21), filling holes and filling plugs (3) corresponding to each cell ; and a vent chamber cover (2') heat-sealed to the battery cover ; and terminals (T1, T2) mounted on the battery cover and connected to the cells ; characterised in that the battery cover is provided with a side vent line (4) adjacent to the cells, said vent line being in flow communication with the spaces above the cells ; said vent line has an exit end (4") tilted upwardly ; and a vent cap assembly (5) is fitted to the vent line at said tilted exit end (4").
