"Very Wideband Multidirectional Antenna"
Abstract: Very wideband open guide multidirectional antenna operating in a selected frequency range, characterized in that the antenna comprises at least the following elements: • A first metal plate (1) having a length L1 and a width 11 with a surface S1, • A second metal plate (2) having a length L2 and a width 12 with a surface S2, • The two plates (1, 2) being separated by a gap E, • A wideband excitation means (3, 5) having an outer surface and a surface profile adapted for generating a linear, vertical polarization electric field between the two plates (1, 2) by means of a signal applied at an excitation point (4) of said antenna, wherein the electric field thus generated propagates within a guiding structure formed by the upper plate (1), the lower plate (2), and the wideband excitation means (3, 5).
