, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to waste management systems. The present invention more particularly relates to a waste management system using internet of things (IOT).
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Generally garbage truck use to go around the town to collect solid waste twice a day. Although this system was thorough it was very inefficient. The urban waste collection process is very complex and requires a significant amount of resources. City municipalities spend a lot of money annually to collect and manage waste. Most high-income cities cover a fraction of this expense by charging fees to the citizens. The rest is compensated from the tax revenue, which creates a financial burden on the local governments.
Waste management companies and municipalities have barely used technological innovations to improve operational efficiency. Even with excellent route optimization, the waste collection trucks must check the trash level of every dumpster physically. The manual process results in wastage of both time and money because trucks often visit dumpsters that don’t need emptying.
The detection, monitoring and management of wastes is one of the primary problems of the present era. The traditional way of manually monitoring the wastes in waste bins is a cumbersome process and utilizes more human effort, time and cost. Throwing daily waste/garbage within the landfills is that the most popularly used technique of waste disposal used nowadays. It eliminates the odors and dangers of waste before it's placed into the bottom. Landfills make to air and pollution that severely affects the surroundings and might prove fatal to the lives of humans and animals. Incineration or combustion could be a kind disposal technique within which municipal thus lid wastes area unit burned at high temperatures so on convert them into residue and gaseous product. The largest advantage of this sort of technique is that it will cut back the quantity of solid waste to twenty to thirty p.c of the initial volume, decreases the house they take up and cut back the strain on landfills.
Recovery and utilisation Resource recovery is that the method of taking helpful discarded things for a particular next use. These discarded things area unit then processed to extract or recover materials and resources or convert them to energy within the variety of useable heat, electricity or fuel. Plasma chemical change Plasma chemical change is another variety of waste management. Plasma could be a primarily associate electrically charged or a extremely ionizing gas. Composting could be a simple and natural bio-degradation method that takes organic wastes i.e. Remains of plants and animals.
The growing use of the Internet of Things (IoT), smart devices and sensors, and machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity has the potential to reduce unnecessary expenses that occur due to operational inefficiencies in trash collection processes. The current Manual systems in which employees clear the dumpsters periodically. There is no systematic approach towards clearing the dumpsters and all people are unclear about the status of a particular location. Employees are unaware of the need for a particular location. The current manual systems are Very less effective in cleaning city.
So there is a need of such a system which can give a more efficient system of working and to execute their jobs quickly. The system of the present invention will send alert and set up the maintained individual when the waste compartment will fill. Then, message sent to the gotten a handle on individual to amass the hardship from the specific territory. The announced individual will send the message from his web application to the waste specialists by sending a SMS. This helps to diminish the flood of the waste compartment and suitably keeping nature clean. The present invention is a real time indicator of the garbage level in a trashcan at any given time. Using that data waste collection routes are optimized and ultimately fuel consumption is reduced. It allows trash collectors to plan their daily/weekly pick up schedule. The present invention helps to keep the cities clean and healthy.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the invention is to reduce collection costs and avoid the overflowing of trash bins and saves time and money.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an eco-friendly system which reduces fuel consumption, which ultimately reduces the carbon footprint, making the waste management process eco-friendlier.
Other objects and benefits of the present invention will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to bind the scope of the present invention.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Accordingly, a garbage monitoring system is disclosed. A garbage monitoring system comprising of; A garbage monitoring system using internet of things (IOT) comprising of; Database of the website for user registration; A LAN OR WAN network such as internet; Sensors used for controlling temperature, light intensity, moisture, location, temperature, and theft; Monitoring system attached to the computer ;and DC motor powered platform; Wherein all the sensors are attached to the computer and user can watch all the data related to the garbage management on his mobile screen through controlling the monitoring system attached with the computer.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:
Fig 1 is the flowchart of the garbage monitoring system.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH RESPECT TO DRAWINGS:
The present invention is a garbage monitoring system. The present invention helps in reduction in collection costs: smart dumpsters transmit their real-time fill level information to waste collectors. The IOT solution uses the data and selects optimum routes for waste collection trucks which doesn’t consider empty trash bins, saving fuel as well as manpower. The present invention has no missed pickups and the smart waste management process eliminates the overflowing of trash bins. The present invention is a system in which authorities are immediately notified when a trash bin is about to get full, the authorities are notified when collection trucks can be scheduled for a pickup even before the pre-scheduled time. The present invention provides waste generation analysis can help waste management companies predict future waste generation. Co2 emission reduction helps in the carbon footprint of waste management and recycling. The present invention leads to less fuel consumption, which ultimately reduces the carbon footprint, making the waste management process eco-friendlier.
In one embodiment, A sensor is attached to a dumpster to measure its fill level. The ultrasonic sensor is used for measuring the level of waste in the dumpster. Gateways play the role of bridging the gap between the IoT platform and sensor, sending data from the sensor to the cloud. Some edge-processing capable gateways are also needed. These devices process the raw data. The IoT platform does the job of transforming the raw data into information. Ultrasonic level sensors are the most commonly used sensors in smart waste management IoT solutions. Other sensors include motion sensors, GPS sensors, light sensors, and vibration sensors to monitor various parameters, including location, temperature, and theft.
In another embodiment, a 24x7 monitoring system is designed for monitoring dumpsters in which the monitoring system is in the internal database of the website.
The user/ societies/ companies/ organizations can register himself/herself in the database of the website as the user and the system monitors the garbage if filled and carries out garbage management. All the sensors are attached to the database of the website and are interconnected to each other.
In another embodiment, DC motor powered platform is used for segregating wet and dry waste. IR sensor and moisture sensor is used for separating wet and dry waste. If either of the containers is full then an alert message is sent from the dumpster. In turn, employees can clear the corresponding dumpster.
It’s sensor monitor how much waste has been accumulated and automatically compacts the waste so that it can holds up to 10 times of the normal bins. It also wirelessly transmits fill level information to cloud server. The smart bin can be used with wheelie bins act as a Wi-Fi hotspot and the clean cap is a pin fill level sensor powered by either battery or solar energy. It can be used with all types of containers such as wheelie bins, large waste containers and even underground bins. It sense how much waste is inside the container and wirelessly transmits fill level information to cloud server. Users can log on to the server networks to access data analytics and to monitor the fill levels of the smart bins in real time. The server networks even notifies users when collections are required and generates optimized routes for each collection. So instead of blindly collecting waste using static routes and schedules users can play in smart waste collection routes and schedules based on where collection is actually needed. This smart solution helps users to need less trucks, less fuel and less time for their collections reducing operational cost by up to 80%. It’s the smart solution designed to save money and to keep streets cleaner.
