, Description:FIELD OF INVENTION:
This invention relates, in general, to water supply and, in particular, to a water supply control assembly. The present invention relates generally to water supplies, and particularly to a float-operated pump switch for automatically maintaining a water level in the tank.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION:

Storing water in one or more storage tanks (or similar storage units) kept on top of buildings or at a convenient height is known for centuries. Such storage tanks are also called “overhead tanks”. Normally, the water to fill these storage tanks is obtained from a tube well, an underground storage tank (also called sump tank), or any natural reservoir. In all such cases, the storage tank is kept at a level that is higher than the highest water level of the water source used for filling the tank. The stored water is normally drawn from the overhead storage tank towards the gravity through one or more outlets, or output lines routed in and around the buildings, terminated by faucets (also called taps), control valves, or similar means (not shown in figure) at desired places.
There are many types of pumping systems available to pump the water to replenish (refill) the overhead tank(s). Electric power operated motorized pumping is generally the preferred choice. An impeller operated by an electric motor lifts the water up to the required height. In the absence of the electric supply, water pumps driven by Internal Combustion engine, steam engine, solar power, storage battery, etc. can be used. Depending on the height of the overhead tank from the source of the water, submersible pump, vacuum pump, or jet pump is used. In case of vacuum pumps, the water is lifted due to continuous vacuum created by the rotating movement of impeller that causes the displacement of air. In case of submersible pumps, the pump is immersed in the water and the water is directly pushed up thereby lifting the water through the pipe to the desired height to fill the overhead tank(s).
There are some devices for preventing overflow of water or for indicating water level are known in the prior art. Some of the devices contains a water level indicator and an alarm which gives alarm sound to prevent overflow of water from the tank. In the other device it gives an alarm sound when the water tank is 25 or 50 % filled as is fixed for the purpose and the water pump will be switch on or off accordingly. This is basically a warning system, which warns the consumer about the position of the water level in the tank. These devices have certain drawbacks such as these require connecting wires for connecting the device with booster pump to overhead tank resulting the system costly.
The present invention solves the above mentioned problem.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:

The present invention relates to a method of automatic control of motor driven pumps according to liquid levels.

One of thesent invention relates to a device automatically switching on / off the water pump motor for water tank.

One of theembodiment of the invention is a primaryto provide a float operated switch which is highly simplified in construction, compact, reliable and efficient in operationand economical to manufacture.

One of the embodiment of the is to provide a float operated switch which may be attached directly to the foot valve of a well pump or suspended at the desired elevation in the well independently of the foot valve.

One embodiment of the invention is to provide a switch which is operated by unbalanced gravitational force and universal gravitational force and universal free hinged mechanism.

One of the embodiment of the present invention provides a device automatically switching on / off the water pump motor or submersible pump for water tank comprising a check valve inserted in the main line of water ahead of water pump, a switch to supply electrical neutral current to motor while on with water supply and a float casing secured within the opening of bottom wall or the like.; another check valve after the pump to prevent the water supply from going down.

One of the embodiment of the invention provides a method of automatically switching on / off the water pump motor for water tank.

As shown in the figure 1& 2, the system includes mechanical switches one as an emergency OFF SWITCH and another with ON SWITCH. Before these switches an MCB is connected to prevent motor from variation of voltage and current. One another switch is connected to the device which is operated by unbalanced gravitational force and universal gravitational force and universal free hinged mechanism. The switches are connected with wires the old switch and the new switch. As shown in fig. The device consists of a hemispherical ball and long stick, which operate the switch with empting and filling the tank .

As illustrated in diagram 3, 4 , 5 & 6 the device is fitted on the top of water tank with the help of a tankconnector, nuts and rubber washer in the hole of diameter 1.5 inch on the top of the tank. The switch plays an important role in operation of the motor. The float ball valve or similar instrument having head at upper end and a hemispherical ball at lower end, slides freely in a small Pipe. The instrument attached with the switch by means of iron strip of width 0.5 inch. The thickness of thestick is 10mm& height is about 32 inch. The hemispherical ball or box contain a mass of 300gram inside it. The masses are made of the casting of concrete. Whenthe water level come down about one-fourth of tank, the Stick head pull the small pipe downward and the mass of 300g SWITCH ON the motor, and when the water level goes to upper limit due to combine effect of the increment of water level, disturbance wave in water due to falling of water, action and reaction ofgravitational force and buoyant force. Due to buoyant force the hemispherical ball pushes the small pipe to upward direction. This push or movement creates a small displacement of 10-15mm in the small pipe which produce a big displacement of 20-35 mm as a result it unbalances the mass of 100g attached incline that an angle of 120° on the switch with the help of an iron strip. The iron strip is connected freely by the screw and nutwith the small pipe.

The component of the gravitational force of mass 100g perpendicular tothe iron strip increases and the parallel component along the iron strip decreases due to the increment in the angleabout 30°to towards a greater angle. This increase in gravitational force component perpendicular to the iron strip create amoment inperpendicular direction of iron strip inclined at 120°,ie in back direction. This moment turn off the witch. There is no friction between the stick and the small pipe due to special outward edge preparation of pipe. Thus the control of the switch is operated by the device.

In the foregoing specification, the invention is described with reference to specific embodiments thereof, but those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited thereto. Various features and aspects of the above-described invention may be used individually or jointly. Further, the invention can be utilized in any number of environments and applications beyond those described herein without departing from the broader spirit and scope of the specification. The specification and drawings are, accordingly, to be regarded as illustrative rather than restrictive. It will be recognized that the terms “comprising,” “including,” and “having,” as used herein, are specifically intended to be read as open-ended terms of art.
