, Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to a water management system. The present invention more particularly relates to a water management system using IOT.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Water is one of the most important basic needs for all living beings, but unfortunately, a huge amount of water is being wasted because of uncontrolled use and exploitation of water resource. Water scarcity is the lack of sufficient available water resources to meet the demands of water usage within a region, which is, according to the “United Nations Development Programme,” caused mainly by poor management of those resources, affecting around 1.2 billion people around the world.
It is well known that drinking water and family other use water, live a requisite part as everyone, increasingly It is subject to people's attention more. Today's society, in all kinds of scientific and technical high speed developments for improving people's life, improving quality of the life On the premise of, people increasingly focus on health and easily life style.
And in the middle of existing domestic water, the problem for existing is relatively more, mainly including it is following some:
1), household drinking water mostly is filter water or outsourcing bottled water, has no the inspection machine of specialty, is deposited safely with water quality It is larger to healthy threat than larger risk.
2), mostly by manually control, (wash water etc. is directly entered by switching tap for the control of domestic water Row control), waste time and energy, not enough intelligently, easy.
3), cannot Intelligent statistical water consumption with the data such as water time, easily there is the situation of water resource waste.
One of the main reasons for the shortage is poor management of water. Overflowing water tanks in residence, schools, colleges, Municipal overhead tanks, Hospitals etc. can contribute to the massive amount of water wastage. Conventional water tanks can neither monitor nor control the water level in the tank. As of now, the water level has to be manually checked and refilled according to the requirements.
The Internet of Things as a technology holds great potential to solve life-threatening problems in various angles of our daily life of which is the “Water Scarcity” through smart, instant and predictable management. In every part of the water cycle, IoT can be utilized to manage water resources better and reach efficient and optimal results.
So there is a need for water management system using IOT. The present invention is a system for water management using IOT. This helps the water regulation authorities not only in meeting the adequate water demands in a city; rather it also aids in the conservation of resources and energy. The present invention is a remote monitoring system and the use of various sensing technologies and quick response time. Smart water distribution system is formed with the help of data gathered from smart sensors. Distribution lines, embedded with pressure sensors, IoT water flow meter, and electrically actuated valves, controls the flow of the water supply in real-time. The present invention helps in reducing water wastage with features like predictive maintenance, remote controlling, and real time monitoring and Meet the supply with the demand for water to efficiently distribute water throughout the distribution lines. The present invention helps in monitoring and controlling the quality of water. The present invention helps to monitor the flow and direction of water. The present invention also helps in notifying water distributors about any leakage in the pipeline. The present invention helps in reducing water wastage and keep waterways clean and make the optimum water supply to conserve resource for future generations.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the present invention is to provide a water management system which will reduce energy pricing and consumption.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a system which can schedule the pumps throughout a day in such a way that there is no loss of additional energy or resources.
Other objects and benefits of the present invention will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to bind the scope of the present invention.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Accordingly, a water management system using IOT is disclosed. Water management system using IOT comprising of;
a. User registration interface (database of the website);
b. Laser sensor used is for precise water level indication.;
c. Water level indication through website;
d. Sending the sensor values to water pump via the transmitter to turn on/off the pump as well as to the microcontroller;

In one embodiment, Water level indication, automatic water pump on/off, etc are carried out. Laser sensor used is for precise level indication. The IoT enabled water management solutions like this use sensor to collect data and share data to the cloud. The transmitter section consists of an Arduino, transmitter, laser sensor. . In the automatic water level detection and refilling of water storage system, the sensor used is Laser sensor which is a replacement of ultrasonic sensor because of its accuracy and small size. The Laser sensor is used to detect the water level. The Laser sensor is placed above the tank which continuously monitors the water level in real time. This information is updated in the cloud (database of the website) and user can analyze the amount of water. These sensor values are sending to water pump via the transmitter to turn on/off the pump. The sensor values are also forwarded to microcontroller for IoT purpose. Microcontroller connects the system to a cloud storage. The platform is designed in such a way that it shows the instantaneous value of current status of water. The water level measured by sensors is sent continuously to microcontroller and forwarded to cloud, it gives a graphical representation of water level from which water usage is analyzed. The receiver section consists of microcontroller, relay, receiver and a motor. According to the value received from the sensors about water level to receiver, the motor automatically turn on/off to pump the water to the tank. Water level can be controlled by a user using cloud platform. Depending on the water levels, the status of the motor is automatically controlled. If the water level is in between maximum and minimum level set, then the user can control the status of the motor from the cloud platform. Buttons ON and OFF have been provided for the same.
In another embodiment, Water level detection is carried out using laser sensor. The laser sensor value transmission through Transceiver. Based on laser sensor value motor is controlled using relay module. sensor value is uploaded to cloud platform. Microcontroller is used in this system has 14 digital input/output pins, from which 2 pins are used for connecting sensors. Laser sensor, Transceiver, a USB connection, a power jack and a reset button is also present. The system is based on the internet and uploads these sensor values to the cloud platform. We can access this cloud platform from anywhere in this world simply by logging into cloud account . In the automatic water level detection and refilling of water storage system, the sensor used is Laser sensor which is a replacement of ultrasonic sensor because of its accuracy and small in size. The sensor is placed on top of the tank facing downwards. The Laser sensor is used to detect the water level. So a relay is used as a switch to control high power devices (here water pump) & for controlling motor. According to the water level, the receiver section gets a command to turn ON/OFF the water pump. As water pump works on AC, this AC has to be controlled to automatically turn ON/OFF according to our system requirements. The water level is analyzed automatically and maintained.
In another embodiment, water management system using IOT comprising of;
g. User registration interface (database of the website);
h. Laser sensor used is for precise water level indication.;
i. Water level indication through website;
j. Sending the sensor values to water pump via the transmitter to turn on/off the pump as well as to the microcontroller;
k. updation of the information in the cloud (database of the website);
l. value received from the sensors about water level to receiver, the motor automatically turn on/off to pump the water to the tank.
wherein the water usage is analyzed through sensors through which The water level is measured and sent continuously to microcontroller and forwarded to cloud.
