Water Storage Tank Control And Access Through Mobile Application

Abstract: The invention aims to allow the user to remotely to view the water level in a water tank. It also gives remote access and control of the water supply system of a water storage tank. Remote access and viewing of a water storage tank are made possible by integration of two components by means of data signals. The first component is an electronic circuit which collects signal from the concerned water tank by means of water sensors and transmit the signal through communication technologies (like the internet, cellular network, etc.) It also controls (on/off) water supply pump either by means of signal from user or by means of the pre-set working code (software). The second component is a mobile application through which a user can view water level and control the first component (electronic circuit). The integration of these two components is done by means of communication technologies (like internet, cellular network etc.) with connectivity at both ends (electronic circuit and mobile application). This invention is advantageous to a user who wants to remotely know the water level in a given water tank, using a mobile application. This will be highly advantageous as it eliminates the difficulty and risk involved in physically accessing a water tank by a user. This invention will also be a tool to achieve energy efficiency in water supply systems by eliminating water overflows. It is a tool that enables complete remote access and control of a water supply system, which will have a huge impact on domestic households in the Indian context.

Specification

Title Of Invention
Domestic water level controller with remote access using IOT and SMS Technologies
2. Field of Invention
This invention relates to Smart Water Level Controller. To be more specific, this invention aims to operate a water level controller through the mobile application using technologies the Internet of Things sensor and the like, and in particular to a water-saving device that uses the Internet of Things sensor and SMS to save, store and manage water for domestic use.
3. Background of Invention & Prior art
The water level controller is a commonly used device that is programmed to switch on the water pump when storage tank empties and also switches off the water pump when the storage tank completely fills. It may sometimes also display the water level of water storage tanks generally using LEDs provided on the device.
These conventional water level controllers do not switch the motor on/off or know the water level when a user is not directly in front of the water controller. This limitation causes great inconvenience to users who might not be present at the time of municipal water supply (job, marketplace, etc) or users who cannot access water controller (handicap, senior citizens, etc.)
Nowadays Network-based applications are widely present in the market which has made possible the use of Domestic water level controller. The ability of the consumer to quickly access various forms of content is changing the role of society. The current invention is used to warn when the water storage tank completely fills to switch it off. The device continually monitors and records water level in the water storage tank, and when the water exceeds the predefined level in the tank the device generates an alarm signal for the user. The recorded data of water usage can be downloaded to a computer/ Mobile device, and this information can be used by the household to identify water wastages and eliminate the possibility of the overflow of water in the household.
There is a network-based analysis programmed having patent application no CN106930362 titled as “ Water-saving device applying internet of things sensor used for domestic use” dated 30th Dec 2015 which relates to water-saving device that uses the Internet of Things sensor to use rainwater for life.
The water-saving device that uses rainwater for living in the sensor of the application Internet of Things can well meet this demand.
4. Description of the Related Art
The device comprises a humidity monitoring module of the internet of things, a water control electric valve module, and a water level measurement module of internet of things. The humidity monitoring module of the internet of things is used for monitoring whether it rains outside or not. The water control electric valve module is used for a water inlet valve of a water storage pond. The water level measurement module of the internet of things is used for measuring the water level of the water storage pond, such as the system described in patent application no CN106930362 titled as “ Water-saving device applying internet of things sensor used for domestic use” published on 07.07.2017.
Further an application bearing no JP10020938 WATER LEVEL MONITOR SYSTEM was filed on the 28th June 1996. This invention relates to a water level monitoring system provided in a building or the like. More specifically, the present invention relates to a water supply/drainage system (water supply system, drainage system or a combined system thereof) that uses two or more water tanks. The present invention relates to a system for monitoring the water level of a water tank selected for switching. It was aimed at preventing the occurrence of a temporary disconnection line at the time of switching the output signal of water level detectors in a detector switching device.
The current invention continuously monitors the water level and it then sends alerts based on usage of water.

5. Object of Invention
It is a water supply control device through which a user can remotely access information about the current water level in water storage tanks. Using this product user can remotely switch water motor ON/OFF, no physical presence near the water tank is required to perform the function. Water consumption information can be accessed using this product.
6. Summary of Invention
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a water-supply control device to manage the supply and storage of water using an Internet of Things sensor and SMS. The invention aims to allow the user to remotely view water level in a water tank. It also gives remote access and control of the water supply system of a water storage tank. Remote access and viewing of a water storage tank are made possible by integration of two components by means of data signals. The first component is an electronic circuit which collects signal from the concerned water tank by means of water sensors and transmits the signal through communication technologies (like the internet, cellular network, etc.) It also controls (on/off) water supply pump either by means of a signal from the user or by means of the pre-set working code (software). The second component is a mobile application through which a user can view water level and control the first component (electronic circuit). The integration of these two components is done by means of communication technologies (like the internet, cellular network, SMS etc.) with connectivity at both ends (electronic circuit and mobile application). This invention is advantageous to a user who wants to remotely know the water level in each water tank, using a mobile application.

8. A detailed description of Invention with the drawing /examples
8.1 Function and Installation of the backend device
a) The water level controller displays the water level in a water tank with means of LEDs. There are 5 levels that can be displayed on device 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. Information about water level is collected using 6 water sensors connected to six individual wires. These 6 wires are connected to device at one end and sensors at other end are placed in water tank. Out of 6 wires that are attached to device, 1 is live wire which is placed at bottom of tank and rest 5 wires indicate water levels, these wires should carefully be placed at regular intervals. This is to be done for both underground water sump and overhead water tank.
b) Water motor is connected to device and can also be switched ON/OFF with means of manual switch which is available on device.
c) Water Level Controller also stops overflow of overhead water tank by switching OFF motor as soon as water level in overhead hits 100%.
d) Water Level Controller stops dry water run of motor. It does not let motor start when water in underground water level hits 0%.
e) Water Level Controller has 2 modes AUTO and MANUAL. In auto mode water controller switches on the motor as soon as water level in overhead water tank hits 0%.
