Watertightness Testing Method And Joining Jig

Abstract: A watertightness testing method for testing the watertightness of a joined section (4) obtained by joining one end section of a second pipe (3) to a first pipe (2), wherein: a testing device body (21) is inserted into the first pipe (2); a joining jig (80) is attached to the other end section of the second pipe (3); a pulling device (82a) is attached to the joining jig (80) and connected to a cord (112a) which is wound in advance around the outer circumference of the first pipe (2); the cord (112a) is pulled in a direction away from the second pipe (3) by operating the pulling device (82a), and as a result, the reactive force produced in the second pipe (3) causes the one end section of the second pipe (3) to be inserted into the first pipe (2) by pulling the second pipe (3) in a joining direction (G), thus joining the second pipe (3) to the first pipe (2); and the testing device body (21) is moved to the joined section (4) by operating an operating rod (22) for movement, which is provided to the testing device body (21), from outside the other end section of the second pipe (3) while in a state where the second pipe (3) has been pulled in the joining direction (G).
