Abstract: The present invention discloses the weather prediction system for farming using Internet of Things (IoT). All sensors, wi-fi modem, any electronic computing device are installed in farm. The past weather data and past weather patterns are saved on cloud by using internet connection. The reading of all devices and sensors are sent to cloud with Wi-Fi modem, as data changes from devices, IoT with the help of past weather data and past weather pattern, weather prediction done. And alert sent to grower on smart phone
Claims:We Claim,
1) The weather prediction system for agriculture using IoT comprising of;
a. Any electronic computing device having internet connectivity;
b. The various sensors such as temperature, humidity, pH level checking, and many more (not limited to these sensors only);
c. The various cameras for capturing of crop images; and
d. Wi-Fi modem for connectivity of all devices and sensors to cloud
2) The system claimed in claim 1, must have past weather data and weather pattern.
3) The system claimed in claim 1, alert will be sent to farmers’ smart phone.
4) The system claimed in claim 1, grower can access system remotely as well.
, Description:TECHNICAL FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention discloses the system or method for weather prediction for agriculture using Internet of Things (IoT).
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The basic need of crops are moisture, warmth and sun to thrive. Farmers have to make many day-to-day decisions related to weather conditions. The four phases of farming get affected by weather.
Crop Growth– Crop yield requires appropriate amounts of moisture, light and temperature.
Use of Fertilizer – The most important decision that farmer have to make is determining the proper time for use of fertilizer and its dosage.
Pest Control – Certain weather conditions encourage the development of pests and diseases, which can destroy crops.
Field work – It means that availability of days that are suitable for fieldwork.
These four phases got affected by weather. Experienced farmer can take decision for what would be right time for these phases. But again, this type of farmer is rare. And Now nature is the most unpredictable. We can experience rain in winter, summer in rain and all that. This unpredictability of nature elements affects planning and operations of farming, such as,
The maximum and the minimum temperature
The speed, the direction and the strength of wind
The hours of bright sunshine
Extreme weather events including but not limited to thunderstorms, hail, fog, heat waves, cyclones, tornadoes among many other weather events.
Precipitation and dew.
Solar radiation
Pan evaporation rates
Therefore, need of weather prediction is important. And which will be giving advise to the farmer for next action. Being aware of real-time weather conditions like air and dew temperature, precipitation, and humidity is the best way to protect crops and secure a high and healthy yield. Extreme weather such as drought, flood, hail, or frost can cause instant plant stress, thus leading to failed production and increased cost.
The present invention discloses the weather prediction system Internet of Things (IoT), which would alert the famer for coming weather possibilities.
OBJECTS OF INVENTION
The main object of the invention is, the weather prediction system for farming using Internet of Things (IoT).
Another object of the invention is, alert will be sent to farmer via smart phone.
Another object of the invention is, farmer can take decision of which action has to be performed next, with the help of alert sent to smart phone.
Other object of the invention is, due to weather prediction yield loss will be avoided.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses the weather prediction system for farming using Internet of Things (IoT). The multiple sensors and devices are installed to farm and power supply provided to them. Wi-Fi modem is installed for internet connectivity to the cloud. Smart phone of farmer has the online application of weather prediction. The past data of weather is stored on cloud for reference. When the changes of parameters of sensors and devices are updated to cloud, weather prediction system checks the current weather pattern with previous pattern, and predicate the future weather. Alert will be sent to farmer via smart phone which is connected to cloud through internet.

The present invention discloses the system for weather prediction for agriculture by using Internet of Things (IoT).
The weather prediction system for farming using Internet of Things (IoT) is comprising of components such as,
Any electronic device – for connection with multiple devices by using IoT
Wi-Fi modem – for IoT connection with any electronic device and cloud
Power Supply – for electric supply for every sensor, controlling units.
Sensors – The number of sensors is used for Hydroponic farming.
Temperature sensor- used to sense temperature around plant
Humidity sensor- used to sense humidity around plant
pH level monitoring - check pH level of solution
nutrient monitoring- check the level of nutrient required of plant
Pest detecting unit - check the requirement of pest control
LED control unit - check the requirement of light to the plant
Cameras – Number of cameras are installed to capture the growth of plant
Internet of Things (IoT) - The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction
The present invention discloses the system comprising of the all sensors, cameras and electronic computing device connected to Internet of Things (IoT) via Wi-Fi modem.
The present invention which has IoT system, consists of sensors/devices which “talk” to the cloud through Wi-Fi connectivity. Once the data gets to the cloud, software processes it and then it decides to perform an action, such as sending an alert to grower on electronic computing device.
The present invention is comprising of following steps such as;
Step 1) System should fed with past weather data and its weather pattern
Step 2) Install all the sensors, cameras, wi-fi modem to the farming area
Step 3) provide power supply to all of above said devices
Step 4) all devices are attached to electronic device using IoT with the help of wi-fi
Step 5) The initial reading of all sensors, devices are recorded and stored on cloud
Step 6) the reading of all devices is checked by grower after periodical interval
Step 7) As the value of particular sensor or cameras changes, system try to generate new weather pattern with help of previous weather pattern
Step 8) alert of predicated weather pattern would send to farmer via smart phone
The key feature of the system is a wireless controller that pulls data from various sensors and monitors, and delivers it to the grower.
Farming under the open sky is reliant upon the weather and is subject to its moody conditions, especially nowadays, when climate change leads to unpredictable weather which is beyond human control.
Being aware of real-time weather conditions like air and dew temperature, precipitation, and humidity is the best way to protect crops and secure a high and healthy yield. Field work – With prediction of weather the farmer would decide when and while filed work is necessary.
Kenya is one of the countries who uses weather prediction system for agriculture. Satellite-based farm-management advisories system in Kenya is useful for small-scale farmers. The service provides text message to farmer. These messages contain information on:
Weather forecasts, e.g. rainfall, temperature.
The actual condition of crops in the fields.
The limiting factor when crop development is lower than expected.
Farm-management advice on how to reduce the impact of the limiting factor.
The weather predication system for agriculture is really beneficial for farming which mainly protects yield loss due to drastic changes in weather.
