Wheelchair Accommodating Three Wheeler

Abstract: A wheelchair, is a chair with wheels, used when walking is difficult or impossible due to illness, injury, or disability. Wheelchairs come in a wide variety of formats to meet the specific needs of their users. They may include specialized seating adoptions, individualized controls, and may be specific to particular activities, The purpose of this project is to contribute to the area of development of mechanism and machine that facilitate working and operation by physically challenged individual to drive and also carry their wheelchair with them. This "wheelchair  accommodating  three  wheeler"  is  specially  designed  to accommodate or contain a person along with a wheelchair and also drive the vehicle, all in real time without ever bringing in the factor of their disability. This "wheelchair accommodating three wheeler" allow driver to be seated in their wheelchair and drive freely. They can unload the wheelchair at their destination, this help them with their localized movability. It is provided with special locking in place mechanism to provide safety to the driver. The floor of the vehicle is lowered with help of special mechanism for easy ramping up the chair. This project is aimed at changing the way the disable have to be dependent on someone else for transportation. The cost of this system is little higher than the conventional scooter, but subsidy from the government can make it cheaper, father commercial production will reduce cost further.

Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
There are a wide variety of types of wheelchair, differing by propulsion method, mechanisms of control, and technology used. Some wheelchairs are designed for general everyday use, others for single activities, or to address specific access needs.
The motive of developing our project is to overcome the limitations of available wheelchairs in such a way that needed one can easily to operate, ride and travel between different places.
This project includes wheel chair for disabled person with seating arrangement. The wheel chair can be parked on the rear portion of vehicle called trolley and lock it also. Individualized controls are available to the operator with ease of operating. Where propulsion is provided by either batteries & electric motors, or manually pushing the wheelchair by hand.
After considering a number of designs and discarding a few we came up with final design concepts which can be used for transportation of disabled persons. Following attributes were considered in design of device.
1. Cost, Size and Ease of Operation
2. Travelling of the vehicle
Accordingly, the adopted design was accepted with better remarks.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Auto motive for disables:
There are any vehicle for disables in the market, each one with its limitation here our system is to give freedom from dependency of others to the people.
Comparison with Manual self-propelled wheelchairs
A self-propelled manual wheelchair incorporates a frame, seat, one or two footplates (footrests) and four wheels: usually two caster wheels at the front and two large wheels at the back. There will generally also be a separate seat cushion. The larger rear wheels usually have push-rims of slightly smaller diameter projecting just beyond the tyre, these allow the user to manoeuvre the chair by pushing on them without requiring them to grasp the tyres. Manual wheelchairs can't travel long distance.
Comparison with Mobility scooters
Mobility scooters share some features with power chairs, but primarily address a different market segment, people with a limited ability to walk, but who might not otherwise consider themselves disabled. Smaller mobility scooters are Typically three wheeled, with a base on which is mounted a basic seat at the rear, with a control tiller at the front. Larger scooters are frequently four-wheeled, with a much more substantial seat.
These small mobility scooters also have limited mobility as well as dependency on others when person reach to its destination.

SUMMERY
Our aim in this innovation is to develop a vehicle for disables which will allow them to carry their wheelchair along with vehicle, so that they can have movability after reaching their desired location.
In our innovation we are using any common two wheeler, we will convert in to three wheeler by replacing back wheel with two wheel. This we will do by replacing half body of vehicle with the proposed system, its middle part will have flat surface to accommodate wheel chair with a stopper mechanism to fix wheelchair while driving.
Back portion is an electrically operated gate which can be converted into slope such that wheelchair can roll over it, in to the vehicle.
The wheelchair will serve as driving seat.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRFERED EMBODIMENT
In figure-1, the engine fitting 100-1, is mounted on frame-100-2. This frame 100-2 has many mountings like Hinge for gate-100.3, Driving wheel-100-4 etc. the vehicle can be controlled by driving handle/steering-100-5. While controlling of wheel chair is done by Control Switch 100-6. Disabled person can ride one's wheel chair into trolley through Back Gate 100-7. This gate 100-7, can be controlled by electrically operated mechanism door-100-8.
200-1, Wheel chair has all needed general functions. For driving purpose driving system-200-2, is provided.
Brakes 300-1, are provided for wheel chair to control the wheel chair, while open gate position-300-2, is also fitted on trolley.

What is claimed as:
1. We claim that innovation can be mounted to any common scooter.
2. We claim that person with disability will not have to change his chair to drive vehicle.
3. We claim that the innovation will be useful for any person to carry his wheelchair with him as driving seat.
4. We claim that it will be easy for person to mount his wheelchair through electrically operated back door.
