Abstract: The invention relates to a winch comprising a rotating drum (12), a cable (14) which can be wound around the drum (12) in multiple layers (16, 18, 20), and a brake (26) for braking the rotation of the drum (12), the brake (26) being calibrated to allow the rotation of the drum (12) above a decreasing variable torque with an increase in the length of cable (14) wound around the drum (12).
