Work Holding Fixture For Machine Centre

Abstract: Work holding fixture is used to hold the work piece for machining to neutralize the effect of cutting force generates during machining. To achieve this, work piece is attached to the fixture by the rigid clamping. The fixture should also be adapted to use with standard type of machining centre.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention states to apparatus for holding and clamping of work
pieces used in machining operation and more particularly to milling, used in CNC shop
to hold the work piece rigidly on CNC machining centre for the machining of the work
piece.
BACK GROUND OF THE INVENTION
Invention of this type of holding fixture required for the rigid clamping & proper
rigid holding of work piece on machining centre during machining operation because no
Vibration should be transferred to the work piece, to maintain required geometrical
parameter and dimensions after milling on the work piece.
SUMMARY OF PRESENT INVENTION
In accordance with one aspect of present invention is to provide a work holding
fixture for machining centre that facilitates effective clamping of work piece during
machining operation.
In accordance with second aspect of present invention is to provide an effective
holding of work piece.
In accordance with another aspect of present invention is to provide to hold the
work piece at height.

In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide accurate
parallelism of work piece with machine bed.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide proper
locating of the work piece on fixture for proper machining References.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is to provide strong
and rigid milling fixture to avoid accident.
In accordance with yet another aspect of present invention is milling fixture is not
so heavy. It can be easily handle & can easily kept on machine bed and work piece can
clamped on machine bed with four through holes rigidly on the bed.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
The feature and advantages of the present invention will become apparent and
descriptive in the description when considered together with figures/flow charts
presented.

DETAILD DESCRIPTION
Referring to fig. 1, fig. 2 & fig. 3 present invention is a work holding fixture for
machining centre 7 adapted for used on VR-3A M/C.
The milling fixture 7 is designed to hold the work piece 8 well positioned as
reference surfaces given on work piece & rigidly for milling operation on work piece 8.
Milling fixture 7 comprise a base plate 1 having a substantially flat top surface A
and bottom surface B, base plate made of mild steel , surface B of base plate rest on
machine bed & clamped base plate 1 through with 4-THR Holes on machine bed.
Position pin 5 of made of STD Material fixed with base plate1 to position the work
piece 8 to get work piece position for machining. The work piece rest on Surface A of
base plate 1 and Located by three location pin 5, pins are fixed on surface A of base
plate 1 to position the work piece for reference of machining operation. base plate 1
surfaces A & B are parallel with in 0.025 mm work piece clamped by 4-Clamp 2 using
Allen screw 3 with washer 6 and Allen screw 4 which is fixed on surface A of base
plate1.
Dialing face C in base plate used as a datum for manufacturing of milling fixture 7
to maintain the all the items as describe above & this dialing face C is also used to
position the milling fixture when fixing on machine bed.

Accordingly, the description of the present invention is to be considered as illustrative only and is for the purpose of teaching those skilled in the art of the best mode of carrying out the invention. The details may be varied substantially without departing from the spirit of the invention, and exclusive use of all modifications which are within the scope of the appended claims is reserved. We Claim

1. A work holding fixture for machining centre for holding the work piece and supporting the planes adapted to be positioned on work table of machining centre. The fixture comprising:

- Base Plate adapted to be coupled to the bed of machining centre and provides supporting surface to other sub component of fixture. Work piece rest and positioned on the top surface of base plate.

- A work piece is rigidly coupled to the top surface of the base plate with three location pins.

- Support structure to support for supporting the work piece during the machining operation.

- Clamps provided to hold the work piece at point for holding the work piece using Allen screw and washer at plane during machining operation.

- Four Clamps provided to hold the work piece at points for holding the work piece at plane during machining operation.

2. The work holding fixture for machining centre of claim 1 wherein, top and bottom surfaces of the base plate are substantially parallel and bottom surface of the base plate is adapted to positioned and clamped on the milling machine bed.

3. The work holding fixture for machining centre of claim 1 wherein, base plate is having four through holes on base plate for fixing the fixture on machine bed.

4. The work holding fixture for machining centre of claim 1 wherein, comprising four clamping pad for precisely holding the work piece during the machining operations and remove the chances of the damages due to vibrations.

5. The work holding fixture for machining centre of claim 1 wherein, three position pins provided on the top surface of the work piece for accurate positioning of the work piece in predetermined position.

6. The fixture for holding work piece of claim 1 further comprising two clamping pads to hold the work piece accurately at a predetermined.

7. The fixture for holding work piece of claim 6 further comprising Allen head screw for enabling adjustment during the mounting of the work piece. ,TagSPECI:As per Annexure-II
