Abstract: A work machine according to the present invention travels on a work field bounded by a boundary object, said work machine comprising: a machine body position calculation unit 311 that uses satellite positioning to calculate the position of a machine body; a boundary crossing determination unit 64 that, on the basis of the position of the machine body and of a boundary line which is set for avoiding contact with the boundary object, determines whether or not the machine body has crossed the boundary line; a boundary crossing prevention control unit 65 that, when it is determined that the machine body has crossed the boundary line, prohibits the machine body from travelling; a boundary crossing permission unit 66 that, with a boundary crossing permission command, interrupts the determination performed by the boundary crossing determination unit 64 and permits the machine body to be beyond the boundary line; and a resumption instruction unit 67 that, when the boundary crossing permission unit 66 has given permission and when a set portion of the machine body, which is set in advance, has entered a region closer to the center of the work field than the boundary line, allows the boundary crossing determination unit 64 to resume the determination and stops the permission by the boundary crossing permission unit 66.
