Abstract: In this wound iron core (10), the ratio Ral/Rac of Ral and Rac satisfies the relationship 1.5=Ral/Rac=12.0, where Ral is the surface roughness of a steel plate site following a direction connecting the plate-thickness-direction center of an oriented electromagnetic steel plate (1) positioned at the innermost periphery of the wound iron core and the plate-thickness-direction center of an oriented electromagnetic steel plate (1) positioned on the outermost periphery of the wound iron core, among oriented electromagnetic steel plates (1) laminated along a lamination direction, and Rac is the surface roughness of an oriented electromagnetic steel plate (1) in a direction parallel to the length direction on the end surface of a planar part (4) of the laminated oriented electromagnetic steel plates (1).
