Specification

The present invention relates to a special Water Purifier which holds a cylindrical filtering compartment holding filter beds and with an inlet for unfiltered water and an outlet for filtered water. The purifier also comprises of a funnel on the top portion from where external purifying materials can be poured in when the need arises for puri-fying highly turbid water.
The invention is particularly related to a 'Special Water Purifier' which is so set-up as to purify even highly turbid water.
The cylindrical filtering compartment holds filter beds layer after layer to purify ordinary top water from iron and bacteria; A PVC Funnel situated on the top portion of the filtering compartment is an unique feature. Purifying materials from the outside can be poured into this funnel which percolates through a very fine hole and eaters the filter beds. Even very highly turbid water can be purified by the process of chemical dosing worked out in our invention.
The already know water-purifier's in the market have one or more of the following disadvantages:
Simple domestic filters are unable to eliminate bacteria contamination in totality. Themineral content of water alters its taste and the iron content stains utensils and floors. Excessive spending on detergents and formation of sedimentation is very common. There lies the necessity of depending only upon the inbuilt filtration layers having a limited capacity.

There is the need of electrical power for its operation.
There is the necessity of having a candle fitted within the equipment which ocaasionally needs to be brushed, washed and dried.
The other existing prufiers in the Market does not include the unique feature of our invention i.e. the funnel process.
The object of our invention is to overcome the drew backs of other purifiers existing in the market.
Our invention is a portable, 'special water purifier' which safe-gaurds human health from hazardous water-borne diseases.
It removes bacteria content in totality, and retains the natural taste and colour of water.
There is no necessity of any electrical or other modes of power for the operation of our purifier.
The purifier maintains no candle.
There is no need to manually brush, wash or dry the purifier, The backwash facility present in the invention is enough to wash and clean it completely.
Our invention comprises of a special feature of removing high content of bacteria, suspended solid and iron by the process of chemical dosing. This is done by the means of a PVC Funnel situated on the top of the filtering compartment,
Where other purifiers can purify only tap water, our 'special water purifier' can purify even highly turbid water.

Accordingly, this invention provides a special Water Purifier comprising of a cylindrical filtering compartment having filtering beds. The said filtering compartment his an inlet for unfiltered water and an outlet for filtered water.
The inlet is connected to a Spray Nozzle. The filtering compartment having two filtration beds called the ZEOFIL. and ZEOFIL-A layer.
The filtering compartment holding a Micron Filter and this Filter with the help of a brass-tube being connected to the outlet. The top of the filtering compartment, holding a PVC Funnel; the funnel being connected to the filtering compart-ment by means of an elongated hole drilled into it.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will stand out from the following description of the specific embodiment of the special Water Purifier, according to the invention. This description is only given by way of example and does not limit the invention in any way. Minor modifica-tions and specifications will be done in due course. The alphabetical reffrences in this description pertain to the accompanying drawing.
The type of 'Special water Purifier' according to the invention shown in the drawing Sheet includes the following successive elements :

A brass inlet; A Spray Nozzle; A solid Alluminium Cap 1 A Cylindrical Filtering Compartment holding two filtration beds; A Micron strainer; A brass tube connected to the brass cutlet ; A PVC Funnel .
The invention is a 'Special Water Purifier' comprising of a Cylindrical Filtering Compartment made of alluminium (marked F in the diagram) .
This Filtering compartment is covered trom the top by a solid Aluminium Cap (marked C) . The cap is jacketed by a Rubber Covering (marked E) in order to avoid corrosion of the equipment.
The Purifier has an INLET for unf 11 tared water. This Inlet is made of brass and is drillei into the Solid Alluminium Cap.
With the inlet is connected a SPRAY NO/.zLE (marked D.' .This Spray Nozzle is attached to the inlet for providing aeration.
The Spray Nozzle opens out into an elongated hole or apace (marked D1) drilled within the Solid Alluminium Cap. This hole in turn opens out into the Filtering Compartment,
The Filtering Compartment holds two layers of filtering media. The layer on top is the ZEOFIL layer (marked G), This layer is made of Manganese Dioxide in granule form. Beneath the ZEOFIL layer the Filtering Compartment holds a second layer, the ZEOFIL-A layer (marked H). This layer comprises of silver impregnated granular activated carbon media.
In the lowest portion of the Filtering Compartment is situated . a Micron Filter (marked L) .
The Micron Filter is connected to the OUTLET with the help of a Brass Tube (marked M) .

On the top of the equipment is.situate a JVC Funnel (marked A) . This Funnel is connected to the vertically elongated hole drilled into the Solid Alluminium Cap of the Purifier. The Funnel is regulated by means of a stop-valve (marked B) .
The working of the ' Special Water Purifier' is :
Unfiltered water enters the Purifier through the INLET.
This water entering the equipment contains dessolved air
with it. The SPRAY NOZZLE to the Inlet helps is
converting the ferrous content of the water into ferric foot, hence soluble iron gets exidised.
The water then passes through the vertical hole drilled into the Alluminium Cap and falls on the filtration beds in the Filtering Ccvpartaent.
In the Filtering Compartment, the water in the first instance has to pass through the ZEOFIL layer comprising of Manganese Dioxide in granule form. Due to the oxidising effect of this catalytic media any remaining soluble or insoluble iron in the water precipitates on this layer.
Next, the water passes through the ZEOFIL-A layer comprising of silver impregnated granular activated carbon. This layer arrests the bio-turbidities of the water as a result of surface activity.
Water permeating through the two ZEOFIL and ZEOFIL-A layers then passes through the Micron Filter. This Micron Filter removes bacteria of size not less than 0.2 Micron from the water.

After its final process through the Micron Filter, Water enters the Brass Tube and acquires an upward motion being released out of the equipment through the OUTLET.
Water caning out of the outlet is thus crystal clear, iron free, turbid free, bacteria free.
None the less, our invention includes a special feature.
It has the arrangement of cleaning and purifying highly turbid water; converting it into crystal clear drinking
water.
On the top portion of the equipment is situate a KC Funnel which is connected to the vertically elongated hole drilled into the Solid «lluminit» Cap. This Funnel is regulated by a Stop Valve.
At times when water entering the equipment is highly turbid, purifying materials like liquid chlorine, fi ne alum powder or soda dust can be put into the Funnel. On opening the stop valve this to external purifying material poured into the Funnel Seeps through the Stop-Valve opening and passes through the elongated vertical hole (marked D) Here it comes in contact with the highly turbid water entering the equipment through the inlet.
The highly tur. id water and the external purifying material both falls in the filtering compartment and mixes with each other. This mixing forms coagulation first and then flocula-tion of the highly turbid water .The water then settles on the filtration beds. Then it passes through the ZECFIL and ZEOFIL-A layer and the previously mentioned filtration process is carried on.
