Device And Method For Pressboard Manufacturing

Abstract: A method (M) for producing pressboard for electrical insulation (1), said method comprising, in any order: a) mechanically compressing (M1) at least one pressboard precursor (2) suitable for electrical insulation, and b) emitting (M2) electromagnetic waves (EM) towards the pressboard precursor(s) (2). The mechanical compression (M1) of the pressboard precursor (2) comprises sequentially passing the pressboard precursor (2) through a plurality of compression stations (S1, S2, S3), each compression station (S1, S2, S3) comprising at least one pair of rollers (3) together compressing the pressboard precursor (2) as it passes a gap between the respective pair or rollers (3), wherein the gap is smaller for each station (S1, S2, S3) in the sequence.
