The present invention relates to a system for controlling the flow of cold air from the freezer compartment to the food storage compartment of a refrigerator. The system involved the use of a control slide provided within the drip tray of the refrigerator. The sliding movement of the control slide actuates the movement of the flaps provided at the back of the drip tray which are rotated in the desired direction. The flaps can be adjusted to 'open' position in the summer sessions and to the 'close' position in the winters sessions thereby enhancing and restricting the volume of the cold air current respectively.
