A Novel Process For The Manufacture Of Pharmaceutical Grade Anti Ulceratives Like Ranitidine And Nizatidine By Using A New Intermediate And Generating A Useful By Product

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel and environmentally safe and clean process for the of pharmaceutical grade anti-ulceratives, ranitidine and nizatidine, and an industrially significant by-product, thiophenol, comprising reacting a novel intermediate of formula I with a derivative of formula II in the presence of an inert diluent. The process yields the produce and by-product in a very high state of purity.
