, Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The embodiment herein generally relates to a sub frame assembly. More specifically, the invention relates to a rear axle sub frame assembly in an air suspension system of an automobile.
BACKGROUND AND PRIOR ART
[0002] Suspension is an integral system in an automobile which protects the automobile and provides comfort. The suspension system evenly supports the weight of a vehicle and helps in keeping contact between tires and the road surface. The suspension system maintains the vehicle height and reduces the effect of forces on the vehicle by absorbing and dampening shocks due to road conditions and provides steering stability. Generally, an air suspension system is used in heavy vehicles such as buses, trucks, trailers as it provides better support in variable road conditions. A sub frame in an air suspension system connects the left side and right sides of the vehicle and shares the weight acting upon it on four plates in four corners of the sub frame. The weight and various other forces acting on the components of a sub frame in an air suspension system induce stresses. The life of these components of the sub frame decrease due to these stresses. Also, the existing sub frames in an air suspension system are not capable of withstanding heavy rear axle weights for a large number of cycles during testing.
Therefore, there is a need for a rear axle sub frame assembly in an air suspension system of an automobile. In particular, there is a need for a sub frame assembly in an air suspension system of an automobile which can reduce stresses and withstand heavy rear axle weights.
