Abstract: The present disclosure provides a hybrid three-piece vehicle wheel assembly. The 5 hybrid three-vehicle wheel assembly can comprise the following. A rim (101), a disc (103) including a hub portion (105), a plurality of spokes (107) and a circumferential surface (109), wherein the spokes (107) extend from the hub portion (105) to the circumferential surface (109), and an L-ring (201) is provided for connecting the disc (103) to the rim (101). The L-ring (201) can include an 10 annular surface (201a), and a peripheral surface (201b). The peripheral surface (201b) can be provided at an outer circumferential edge of the annular surface (201a), wherein the peripheral surface (201b) extending axially outwards relative to the annular surface (201a). The peripheral surface (201b) is joined to a radially inner surface of the rim (101). A plurality of fastening means (203) is provided for 15 connecting the disc (103) to the annular surface (201a) of the L-ring (201).
We claim:
1. A hybrid three-piece vehicle wheel assembly, comprising:
a rim (101);
a disc (103) including a hub portion (105),a plurality of spokes (107) and
5 a circumferential surface (109), wherein the spokes (107) extending from the hub portion (105) to the
circumferential surface (109);
an L-ring (201)provided for connecting the disc (103) to the rim (101),
wherein the L-ring (201) including:
10 an annular surface (201a), and
a peripheral surface (201b)at an outer circumferential edge of the annular
surface (201a), wherein the peripheral surface (201b) extending axially
outwards relative to the annular surface (201a);
wherein the peripheral surface (201b) joined to a radially inner surface of the
15 rim (101);and
a plurality of fastening means (203)connecting the disc (103) to the annular
surface (201a) of the L-ring (201). 2. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the peripheral surface
(201b) joined to a well portion (101a) on the radially inner surface of the rim
20 (101).
3. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein a joining means for
joining the peripheral surface (201b) of the L-ring (201) to the radially inner
surface of the rim (101) is welding.
4. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fastening means (203)
25 connecting the circumferential surface (109) of the disc (103) to the annular
surface (201a) of the L-ring(201), and

wherein the fastening means (203) selected from a group consisting of a bolt
(205a) and a nut (205b), a rivet (207), a stud, and a set screw. 5. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein a material of the disc
(103) same or different from a material of the rim (101). 5 6. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 5, wherein the material of the disc
(103) including one of alloy, cast aluminum, forged aluminum, magnesium
alloy, and composite alloy including carbon fiber, and
wherein the material of the rim (101) including steel.
7. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein a plurality of holes
10 provided on the circumferential surface (109) of the disc (103),
a plurality of holes provided on the annular surface (201a) of the L-ring (201),
wherein the holes on the circumferential surface (109) of the disc (103)
aligned to the holes on the annular surface (201a) of the L-ring (201), and
wherein the fastening means (203) inserted through the holes on the disc (103)
15 and the L-ring (201) for connecting the disc (103) to the L-ring (201).
8. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the disc (103) including
an axially outer surface (103a) and an axially inner surface (103b), and
wherein the axially inner surface (103b) of the circumferential surface (109)
facing the annular surface (201a) at a side away from the peripheral surface
20 (201b). 9. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the rim (101) including a
single piece rim, thereby being independent of air leaks.
10. The wheel assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein the peripheral surface
(201b) extending perpendicular relative to the annular surface (201a)
