Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an apparatus for washing. More, specifically the present invention relates to an apparatus for washing clothes.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In the present semi automatic washing machines, a motor is used to run the drive assembly which in turn is attached to an impeller / agipeller or agitator to create mechanical action (1-2, 1-2, action). The problem with the existing machine is that in the impeller / agipeller as such a quick reversal of the motion is not possible. Moreover, the impeller / agipeller do not apply adequate frictional forces on the clothes to ensure an efficient agitation. Even with the available frictional forces there is considerable lint formation in such a machine.
US Patent no. 4,910,979 teaches a washer for subjecting a fabric load to a series of washing. The said washer comprises a basket for receiving said fabric load rotatably mounted within a cabinet, said cabinet having an openable lid providing access to the interior of said basket. Further, the said washer comprises an agitator centrally mounted within said basket, being free to rotate relative to said basket, a reversible drive system including a motor, drive means operatively connected between said reversible drive system and said basket and agitator for selectively rotationally driving said basket and agitator in an opposite oscillatory manner. The agitator mentioned herein causes lint formation. Also, the said agitator is present inside the basket thereby reducing the capacity of the washer. Moreover, the said agitator does not allow a quick reversal of the motion. Further, the said agitator causes wear and tear to the clothes through its own friction.
Based on the foregoing, there is a need for an apparatus for washing clothes that prevent the lint formation, allow faster reversal of the motion, provide more space for the cloth washing and reduces wear and tear of the clothes. Further, the apparatus for washing clothes should be convenient, efficient and safe.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

• The present invention prevents the lint formation while washing the clothes.
• The present invention allow fast reversal of the motion.
• The present invention apply adequate factional forces on the clothes to ensure an efficient agitation.
• The invention allow more space inside the apparatus for cloth movement.
• The invention mentioned here eases all above mentioned concerns providing a convenient, efficient and safe solution for washing clothes.

Although the present invention is described in connection with exemplary embodiments, the present invention is

not intended to be limited to the specific forms set forth herein. It is understood that various omissions and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstances may suggest or render expedient, but these are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the spirit or scope of the claims of the present invention. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology used herein is for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.
The terms "a" and "an" herein do not denote a limitation of quantity, but rather denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item
The present invention provides an apparatus for washing clothes. The apparatus for washing clothes comprises a container for storing water and clothes, at least one pump driven by a prime mover, the at least one pump being coupled to the said container through one or more suction pipe for re-circulating the water inside the container and at least one nozzle coupled to the at least one pump for creating the flow of water inside the container.
Referring to Figure la, a diagram of the apparatus for washing clothes 100 (hereinafter referred to as apparatus 100) is depicted. The apparatus 100 comprises a container 102. The container 102 may be utilized to wash clothes inside the same. The container 102 include side walls 104a, 104 b and a base 106. A sleeve separator 108 is disposed at the base 106 of the container 102 to prevent the clothes from entering the suction pipe 112. A pump 110 is placed below the base 106. The pump 110 is coupled to the container 102 through suction pipe 112. The pump 110 is driven by a prime mover. In an embodiment of the present invention, the prime mover is a electric motor 114. The said electric motor 114 may be operated using a battery. The pump 110 draws water from the container 102 through suction pipes 112. The output of the pump 110 is provided at a direction control valve 116 through hose pipe 118. The direction control valve 116 is coupled to the nozzle 120a, 120b. It is obvious to a person skilled in the art that multiple nozzles may present in the container 102. The nozzle 120a, 120b are attached at the side walls 104a, 104b of the container 102 respectively. In an embodiment of the present invention, the nozzle may be present at the base 106 of the container 102 to provide tumble movement of the clothes inside the container 102. The direction control valve 116 provide water to the said nozzles 120a, 120b. The nozzles 120a, 120b create water jet inside the container 102. Thereby creating clockwise or anti-clockwise motion of the water inside the container. The nozzles 120a, 120b

are coupled to the direction control valve 116 through hose pipe 122a, 122b. The nozzles 120a enable a clockwise movement of the water in the container 102 whereas the nozzles 120b creates a anticlockwise movement of the water. In an embodiment of the present invention, the nozzles may create a tumble movement inside the container. The direction control valve 116 enables a systematic clockwise and anti-clockwise movement of water inside the container 102 that result in an agitator movement. The agitator movement formed by the periodic clockwise and anti-clockwise movement of the water inside the container 102 prevent formation of lint during the use. Further, the same reduces power consumption of the apparatus 100. Furthermore, the agitator movement by means of water movement reduces wear and tear of the clothes while washing.
Referring to Figure lb, a diagram of the apparatus 100 is depicted. Figure lb depicts an embodiment of the present invention in which the flow of the water inside the container 102 is anti-clockwise.
In working, the container 102 is filled with water and clothes to be washed. The pump 110 draws water from the container 102 through suction pipe 112. The sleeve separator 108 prevents the clothes from entering the suction pipe 112. The pump 110 pumps the water to the direction control valve 116. The direction control valve 116 directs the water to the nozzles 120a 120b systematically to create clockwise and anti-clockwise movement of water inside the container 102. The nozzles 120a enables a clockwise movement of water whereas the nozzles 120b enables a anti-clockwise movement of the water resulting in an agitator movement inside the container 102.
The present invention is advantageous as the same consumes less power. Further, there is less amount of lint formation during the use due to the use of water for creating agitator movement. The apparatus 100 is lighter in weight as compared to the prior arts as the a physical agitator is not required. Further, the present apparatus 100 takes upto 25 % less time for washing the clothes as compared to the prior arts due to smooth reversal of flow. Furthermore, the present apparatus 100 allows more space for clothes inside the container 102 due to the absence of impeller / agitator. Moreover, the present invention reduces wear and tear of the clothes due to the absence of physical agitator. Additionally, the present invention is safer in operating as absence of physical agitator reduces the chances of physical injury to a person using the apparatus 100.

The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the present invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the present invention and its practical application, to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the present invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated. It is understood that various omissions and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstance may suggest or render expedient, but such are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the spirit or scope of the claims of the present invention.
