"Culture Medium Enabling The Differentiation Of Staphylococcus Aureus From Coagulase Negative Staphylococci"

Abstract: The present invention relates essentially to a specific culture medium for growth, detection, identification and/or counting of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, said medium being characterized in that it comprises at least one fluorogenic, chromogenic or luminescent substrate of phospholipase C. Said medium permits differentiation between Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci.
