Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a feed additive composition for ruminants the feed additive composition containing 30 wt% or more of a biologically active substance being a dispersed type which is highly protective in the lumens and exhibiting excellent dissolution in the gastrointestinal tract. The present invention pertains to a feed additive composition for ruminants characterized by containing (A) at least one selected from among a hydrogenated vegetable oil and a hydrogenated animal oil which have a melting point higher than 50°C and lower than 90°C (B) 0.05-6 wt% of lecithin (C) at least 30 wt% and less than 65 wt% of a biologically active substance (D) at least 0.01 wt% and less than 0.8 wt% of a natural vegetable oil and at least 0.1 wt% and less than 6 wt% of water.
1. A feed additive composition for ruminants comprising (A) at least one selected from hydrogenated vegetable oil and hydrogenated animal oil each having a melting point of higher than 50°C and lower than 90°C, (B) not less than 0.05 wt% and not more than 6 wt% of lecithin, (C) not less than 30 wt% and less than 65 wt% of a biologically active substance, (D) not less than 0.01 wt% and less than 0.8 wt% of a natural vegetable oil, and not less than 0.1 wt% and less than 6 wt% of water.
2. The composition according to claim 1, wherein said (D) is not less than 0.1 wt% and not more than 0.4 wt% of a natural vegetable oil.
3. The composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said natural vegetable oil is at least one selected from the group consisting of soybean oil, palm oil, rape seed oil, canola oil, olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil and safflower oil.
4. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the aforementioned natural vegetable oil comprises a unsaturated fatty acid having a carbon atom number of 18 in not less than 60 wt% and not more than 95 wt% relative to the constituent fatty acid of the natural vegetable oil.
5. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein said natural vegetable oil comprises oleic acid in not less than 55 wt% and not more than 90 wt% relative to the constituent fatty acid of the natural vegetable oil.
6. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein said natural vegetable oil is olive oil.
7. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein said biologically active substance is at least one selected from the group consisting of amino acid, vitamin and a vitamin-like substance.
8. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 1, having, as a surface layer, a layer substantially free of a biologically active substance.
9. The composition according to claim 8, wherein the layer substantially free of a biologically active substance has a thickness of not less than 30 urn and not more than 110 urn.
WE CLAIM:
1. A feed additive composition for ruminants comprising
(A) at least one selected from hydrogenated vegetable oil and hydrogenated animal oil each having a melting point of higher than 50°C and lower than 90°C,
(B) not less than 0.05 wt% and not more than 6 wt% of lecithin,
(C) not less than 30 wt% and less than 65 wt% of a biologically active substance,
(D) not less than 0.01 wt% and less than 0.8 wt% of a natural vegetable oil, and
not less than 0.1 wt% and less than 6 wt% of water.
2. The composition according to claim 1, wherein said (D) is not less than 0.1 wt% and not more than 0.4 wt% of a natural vegetable oil.
3. The composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said natural vegetable oil is at least one selected from the group consisting of soybean oil, palm oil, rape seed oil, canola oil, olive oil, almond oil, avocado oil and safflower oil.
4. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the aforementioned natural vegetable oil comprises a unsaturated fatty acid having a carbon atom number of 18 in not less than 60 wt% and not more than 95 wt% relative to the constituent fatty acid of the natural vegetable oil.
5. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein said natural vegetable oil comprises oleic acid in not less than 55 wt% and not more than 90 wt% relative to the constituent fatty acid of the natural vegetable oil.
6. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein said natural vegetable oil is olive oil.
7. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein said biologically active substance is at least one selected from the group consisting of amino acid, vitamin and a vitamin-like substance.
8. The composition according to any one of claims 1 to 1, having, as a surface layer, a layer substantially free of a biologically active substance.
9. The composition according to claim 8, wherein the layer substantially free of a biologically active substance has a thickness of not less than 30 urn and not more than 110 urn.
