Abstract: A plate (5, 5a, 5b) for a dumbbell or barbell (1), the plate (5, 5a, 5b) comprising a body (17), the body (17) comprising: one or more primary weight portions (35a, 35b) extending in a direction radially out from a plate axis (23) passing through a centre point (25) of the plate (5, 5a, 5b), the primary weight portions (35a, 35b) forming at least part of a total weight of the plate (5, 5a, 5b); one or more additional weight portions (57a, 57b) removably connectable to the body (17), such that connecting and disconnecting the additional weight portions (57a, 57b) incrementally varies the total weight of the plate (5, 5a, 5b).
