FSSAI License Renewal

The food operator business (FBOs) who are indulged in activities related to food articles including manufacturing, trading, restaurants, etc. shall obtain a 14-digit Registration/License number which must be printed on food packages with the logo of FSSAI, as a sign of authentication of the food article.

The FSSAI certificate has a validity of a minimum of 01 years and a maximum of 05 years. And after the validity of the FSSAI license is expired, the FBO must apply for license renewal in order to continue his business operations.

It is very significant to keep note of the expiration of FSSAI registration/ license, so that can be renewed on time in order to avoid any form of penalties. As simplified as it is to register the FSSAI license, similarly the process of renewal has also been made easier.
The enhanced version of the compliance portal i.e. FoSCoS (Food Safety Compliance System) has reduced the time and efforts to apply for renewal of license in comparison to the earlier ways of renewing the license.
It is also pertinent to note that the FBOs must apply for renewal of the license on or before the expiry of their original registration/ license tenure, to keep the business operations running smoothly.
