How to apply for Basic FSSAI Registration online?

FSSAI Registration is provided as per the nature of food business operations after considering its turnover, capacity, number of vehicles, and other related specifications. FBOs can apply for a license under three categories, i.e., Basic FSSAI Registration, State FSSAI License Registration, and Central FSSAI License Registration.

The importance of the FSSAI license is quite direct for both Food Business Operators (FBOs) and consumers. On the one hand, FBOs can gain benefits of better brand image in the market, easy reach towards the targeted customers, authorized approval on the quality of the food articles being dealt with. On the other hand, consumers can easily differentiate from various healthy and unhealthy food options in the market. They can protect themselves from harmful diseases or other complications due to unhealthy food consumption.

MEANING OF BASIC FSSAI REGISTRATION:

Basic FSSAI Registration is required for those FBOs who have Small businesses or startups having annual turnover below Rs.12 lakhs. These business operators are generally called petty food business operators (Petty FBOs).

METHOD FOR APPLICATION OF BASIC FSSAI REGISTRATION:

Step 1: Go to the FoSCoS homepage and log in by selecting the option of “Apply for Registration Certificate (Petty Food Business Operators) Fee: Rs.100 per year”.

            

Step 2: Then enter the complete Email-Id or Mobile Number and click submit. The authority will send a one-time password (OTP) to your Email-Id or Mobile Number. Enter the code received on your email or mobile and click on the submit button.

Step 3: Select the State of Business Operations.

Step 4: Various categories of food businesses will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Select the type of business to be done by FBOs and click the proceed button.

Step 6: After which FORM A will appear, the user needs to fill in all the required details in such a form.

Step 7: After filling out the form, upload the necessary documents along with the fee. 

Step 8: After payment has been made, a 17-digit reference number receipt will be generated for the user's future reference.

Step 9: Through the 17- digit reference number user can track the status of his application. (foodlicensing.fssai.gov.in)
