Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a braking unit (100) of a vehicle. The braking unit (100) includes a brake disc (1), a brake caliper housing (2) enclosing at least a portion of the brake disc (1). At least two brake pads (7, 8) are movably supported on a brake caliper support (3). A first sensor (4) and a second sensor (5) are supported on the brake caliper housing (2). The first sensor (4) generates 10 a first signal relating to distance between the brake caliper housing (2) and a first back plate (6) supporting a first brake pad (7). The second sensor (5) is configured to generate a second signal relative to distance between the brake caliper housing (2) and the brake disc. A control unit is configured to determine wear of the first brake pad (7) and the second brake pad (8), based on signal 15 received from the sensors (4, 5).
