A Locking Device

Abstract: A locking device (100) of a vehicle is described. The locking device includes a housing (114) adapted to be securely mountable to a portion of the vehicle. The housing defines a first end (114a) and a second end (114b) opposing the first end. A barrel (110) is rotatably disposed within the housing and is defined with an upper end (110a) and a lower end (110b). The device further includes a locking module (118) reciprocally disposed within 10 the housing, The locking module being receivable by the barrel on the lower end. A cam driver (102) is operatively disposed within the barrel on the upper end. The cam driver being configured to reciprocate relative to the barrel to rotate the barrel within the housing, in turn imparting linear movement to the locking module. The locking device according to the present disclosure can operate or require a compact layout.
