An Exhaust Gas After Treatment System For Internal Combustion Engine

Abstract: An exhaust gas after treatment system for internal combustion engine has a Diesel oxidation catalyst (2), a Diesel Particulate filter (3) and aqueous urea solution injector (6) arranged in one side. An exhaust gas mixer assembly (7) and a Selective Catalytic Reduction and Ammonia Slip Catalyst unit (9) is arranged in another side. A decomposition pipe (5) is connecting both sides through a Diesel Particulate filter outlet chamber (4) and the exhaust gas mixer assembly (7). An auricle mixer (16) is placed within the decomposition pipe (5) and provided in the exhaust flow path between the Diesel Particulate filter outlet (4) and the Selective Catalytic Reduction inlet (8), and the aqueous urea solution is injected into the exhaust gas stream through the urea injector (6), placed along the central axis of the auricle mixer. The exhaust gas flowing from Diesel Particulate filter (3) to Selective Catalytic Reduction (9), heats up exterior side of urea decomposition pipes. [FIG. 1]
