An Electric Latch For A Vehicle

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses an electric latch (100) for a vehicle. The electric latch (100) comprises an actuation mechanism (4) having at least one actuator (41), one or more gear members (50), a plunger (42), and at least one switch (43). The one or more gear members (50) is operable by the actuator (41) to operate the plunger (42). A cam gear (45) is defined with a first protrusion (46). The first protrusion is operatively engageable with the switch (43). A freewheel gear (48) rotatably coupled to the cam gear (45). The freewheel gear (48) is defined with a second protrusion (49) and engageable with the plunger (42). The plunger (42) is configured to reciprocate and engage with an extension member (3a) of a second lever (3) to move the second lever (3) between a locked condition and an unlocked condition.
