The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.
FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a touchless billing system and method thereof. Particularly this invention relates to a touchless billing system to generate instant bills / invoices at a point of sale (POS) without touching the billing system. The system and method are provided to enhance the efficiency of billing processes in retail stores and eliminate the need for physical contact with the billing system.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Nowadays, grocery stores, shops, and outlets use billing systems where the products are scanned by a scanner or sensors to list on the computer to calculate the bill amount and generate the bill. After that, a salesman manually enters commands by the computer to accumulate the product list and generate the bill. Further, the salesman manually enters commands by the computer to print the bill / invoice.
US patent publication no. US20140172531A1, discloses a computer system comprising the following: one or more processors; system memory; one or more computer-readable storage media having stored thereon computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computing system to perform a method for performing a transaction using a quick response (QR) code, the method comprising the following:
receiving, from a purchaser, an indication of one or more items that are to be purchased using a mobile wallet application;
determining a total price for those items that are to be purchased;
receiving, from the purchaser, a tokenized QR code that includes embedded account information for the purchaser for use in processing transactions with sellers;
generating a second, different tokenized QR code that includes encrypted account information for the seller, along with encrypted account information for the purchaser and the determined total price for the items that are to be purchased;
sending the second tokenized QR code to a transaction processing node, wherein the transaction processing node transfers money equivalent to node, the determined total price from the purchaser's account to the seller's account according to the encrypted account information in the second tokenized QR code; and
receiving an electronic receipt indicating that the money was transferred from the purchaser's account to the seller's account.
US patent publication no. US20120284130A1 discloses a system, comprising: a non-transitory memory storing user account information, wherein the information comprises a user account identifier and a transaction identifier; and one or more processors for receiving, by a payment provider, a desire for a user to pay at a point of sale for a financial transaction a merchant using an account with the payment provider and a user device; receiving information from an identifier captured by the user device, wherein the identifier corresponds to details from the financial transaction; processing the financial transaction; and communicating an approval for payment to the merchant.
There are disadvantages associated with the conventional billing systems and methods. One of the disadvantages is that the conventional billing system and method require scanning barcodes or QR codes and generating bill / invoice manually by the computer, which takes time.
Another disadvantage associated with the conventional billing systems and methods is that during the billing process, wet items like milk packets etc. are touched with the system which causes damage to components of the system.
Yet another disadvantage associated with the conventional billing systems and methods is that the system is not fully automated and needs some manual entry to generate the bill and invoice.
Still another disadvantage associated with the conventional billing systems and methods is that the systems are costly which are not affordable to low-income retail shops.
Therefore, there is need of a billing system and method which is capable to cater problems of the conventional systems and methods.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a touchless billing system and method thereof which obviates the disadvantages associated with the prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a touchless billing system and method wherein requires scanning barcodes or QR codes of products and generating bills / invoices automatically without touching the system by scanning a unique code, which is fast and efficient to generate the bill.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a touchless billing system and method which is touchless so as wet items like milk packets etc. are not touched with the system during the billing process which prevents the damage of components of the system.
Still further object of the present invention is to provide a touchless billing system and method which is automated and does not need any manual entry to generate the bill and invoice.

In a preferred embodiment, A user selects the items from an outlet shop for purchasing and for the same, either the user or a salesman scans the barcode (3) of the items through a scanner (2) without touching the scanner (2). The scanned items are listed and shown details of the items are on the display screen (11) of the computing module (1). The total price of the items and the number of the items are calculated by the operating means of the computing module (1) automatically. After that, a unique code (5) provided in the form of either a QR code or a barcode on a card (4) is scanned through the scanner (2) without touching the scanner (2) to allow the computing module (1) to generate a payment means, for example, a QR code or payment request link, for the payment of the bill amount and generate the bill automatically. Further, the bill is either printed at the point of the sale by the printer (15) or sent a soft copy of the bill to the customer automatically.
During the working of the system, a user selects the items from an outlet shop for purchasing, and for the same, the user scans the barcode (3) of the items through the scanner (2) without touching the scanner (2). The scanned items are listed and shown details of the items are on the display screen (11) of the computing module (1). The total price of the items and the number of the items are calculated by the operating means of the computing module (1) automatically. After that, the unique barcode of the card (4) is scanned through the scanner (2) without touching the scanner (2) to allow the computing module (1) to generate a QR code and show on the display (11) for the payment of the bill amount and generate the bill automatically. the generated bill is printed at the point of the sale by the printer (15) automatically.
