It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] Conventionally, a vehicle seat includes a pair of armrests configured with the backrest of the seat to allow a user sitting on the seat to rest his/her arms. These armrests are pivotally configured with the backrest so that it can be moved between the stow/store position and use/usage position as per the convenience of the user. Nowadays automobile companies have started providing their vehicles seats with tables or trays arrangement. Mostly these trays are configured with a backrest of a forward seat such that the tray is used by a passenger sitting on a rear seat behind the forward seat. In this way, independent trays are provided for each seat such that every passenger sitting in the vehicle can have a tray for keeping but not limited to stuff and food articles. Providing independent trays for each seat is costly in terms of raw materials. Also, the trays configured with the backrest of the forward seats may get loose with time and can be noisy which is very much annoying and undesired.
[0004] There is, therefore, a need for an improved mechanism for configuring retractable trays or tables with the vehicle’s seat at a reduced cost to provide a pleasant user experience. The present disclosure provides an assembly that can be deployed with armrests as a foldable tray or table that can be accessible to a passenger sitting on the seat as well as to the rear passenger sitting behind the seat.
