Abstract: The present invention relates to an auto thermal chemical looping gasification method. The carbonaceous feedstock is partially oxidized by employing oxygen carrier and steam to generate syngas which primarily consists carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The unburnt carbon at the exit of fuel reactor is separated in the carbon stripper and recycled back to the fuel reactor resulting in enhanced carbon conversion. The reduced oxygen carrier is regenerated in the air reactor and producing heat that is used for endothermic reactions of the fuel reactor. The hydrogen concentration further increased in syngas by admitting it into catalytic water gas shift reactor. The hydrogen in the syngas is separated in the pressure swing adsorber. The steam is generated in the process and being used as fluidizing medium, for water gas shift reactor and to produce electricity
