Development Of Organic Fertilizer From The Processed Flower Waste

Abstract: Organic fertilizers are made from mined rock minerals, and natural plant and animal materials. They include ingredients like manure, guano, dried and powdered blood, ground bone, crushed shells, finely pulverized fish, phosphate rock, and wood. Plant growth is determined by a variety of environmental factors including temperature, available water, available light, and available nutrients in the soil. The nutrients necessary' for plant growth include: the primary macronutrients nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K); the secondary macronutrients calcium (Ca), sulphur (5), magnesium (Mg); and the micro nutrients or trace minerals boron (B), chlorine (CI), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), molybdenum (Mo), selenium (Se). Fertilizers, also referred to herein as plant food, supplement the soil with varying amounts of the nutrients necessary for plant growth. Orgariic fertilizer can be produced utilizing a variety of ingredients to obtain a variety of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (N-P-K) formulations. The desired N-P—K formulation can vary depending on the intended use of the fertilizer. The development of Organic fertilizer using the Seaweed and the flower waste will satisfy the need of the NPK content naturally. However, it is necessary to adhere to the regulations outlined in the NPOP, APEDA and FSSAI.

Specification

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Developing Organic fertilizer is a good theme for the entire world especially to the farmers and
the agriculture. By developing the cheapest Organic fertilizer will be an additional benefit for
the farmers and the society. Organic NPK from natural sources, especially from processed
flower waste, helps to develop value added products for agriculture. According to various
studies, long term use ofchemical fertilizers in the soil alters the Physio-chemical and biological
properties of the soil. Organic fertilizer may provide the solution to rejuvenating the soil
fertility. But organic fertilizers were quite high in price in thé global market compared with the
commercially available chemical fertilizers. So, providing the cheapest organic fertilizér rich in
natural NPK will help society to utilize the need to improve the soil fertility in the future.
Processed Flower waste might be a very good source of nutrients required for the growth of
plant crops. Flower waste was utilized in various actions and now is a demand. But processed
flower waste from the fragrance manufacturing industry seems to be a problem in discarding
those wastes. Trials were carried out and found the flower wastes were rich in NPK and if it is
properly managed to utilize. Developing value added products from waste is a recycling
process and providing back good things for the society. Soil épplication product development
from the proceésed flower waste helps many farmers to improve the soil fertility, yield increase
and better lifestyle management.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Developing Organic fertilizer from processed flower waste is the first time to invent.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
Availability of the natural NPK fertilizer is hard to obtain as a product for the agriculture‘
Chemical based NPK fertilizers were available in large quantities throughout the world. But it
is very hard to find the combination of all the three NPK from a single natural source. Processed
flower waste was rich in NPK contents an carried out trial wdrks to convert the waste into
Organic Fertilizer with the combination of ingredients.

MATERIALS:
Major ingredients of Processed Flower waste, Do|omite and Seaweed powder used for the
development of Organic Fertilizer. The materials and methodology of processing the Bio
fertilizer are given below

1. Processed Flower waste:
The raw material of flowers like Tuberose and Sambac were used to produce fragrance through
various processes. The processed flower wastes were dumped separately without utilizing or
properly discarding. These wastes were collected and processed further to obtain as a dried
powder to produce Organic fertilizer.
2. Dolomite:
Dolomite is a type of limestone. It is rich in magnesium carbonate and calcium carbonate. It
~
also contains several other minerals. Dolomite is made of 60% calcium carbonate and 40%
magnesium carbonate. It can act as a binding or carrier material helps to develop fine shaped
product output. To carry the processed flower waste powder ~and the seaweed powder,
dolomite act as a best ingredient in developing the final product.
3. Seaweed Powder:
Séaweed fertilizers can improve the plant's stress-bearing capacity by improving its overall
health. It helps in making the plants more resistant to diseases and pests by boosting their
immune systems. Seaweed fertilizers contain naturally occurring growth stimulants that can
greatly increase crop yield.

4. CLAIMS
