Abstract: A process for the formation of high-purity magnesium L-lactate crystals from homogenous and heterogenous decomposed organic waste is provided. The process provides magnesium L-lactate crystals with improved enantiomeric purity and overall purity which are particularly suitable for reuse in the production of new polylactic acid.
