VEHICLE
HERO MOTOCORP LIMITED, an Indian Company at: The Grand Plaza, Plot No.2, Nelson Mandela Road, Vasant Kunj- Phase -II, New Delhi, India, 110 070
THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATION PARTICULARLY DESCRIBES THE INVENTION AND THE MANNER IN WHICH IT IS TO BE PERFORMED.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
[01] The present invention relates to a vehicle in particular carrying a USB terminal unit.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
[02] The practice of providing a USB terminal unit in a vehicle such as a saddle-ride type vehicle is on the increase. Generally, it can be observed from the prior arts that the USB terminal unit is positioned below a seat and inside a luggage box. Usability of the USB terminal unit is seriously hindered in this construction, since the USB terminal unit cannot be accessed when the seat is a closed condition.
[03] In an alternative embodiment, the USB terminal unit is positioned on a handlebar. While the USB terminal unit is usable from a location near a front portion of the vehicle, usability of the USB terminal from a location near a rear portion of the vehicle is hindered. Also, in this construction, the USB terminal unit is susceptible to ingress of dust, water and other foreign contaminants, which can adversely affect a lifespan of the USB terminal unit.
[04] Furthermore, Japanese Patent Application Publication No. JP2019172163 A1 discloses positioning the USB terminal unit in the rear of a pillion step and ahead of a rear grip. It is said in this document that positioning the USB terminal unit in the rear of the pillion step and ahead of the rear grip increases usability of the USB terminal unit. Especially, as per the document, usability of the USB terminal unit is increased by disposing a USB port opening outside a rear body cover. While usability of the USB terminal unit is increased many other disadvantages get associated with this construction. For instance, the construction is complicated and also does not safeguard the USB terminal unit from ingress of dust, water and other foreign contaminants.
[05] Thus, there exists a need to provide a vehicle in particular carrying a USB terminal unit which addresses one or more of the aforesaid disadvantages.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[06] This Summary is provided to introduce a selection of concepts in a simplified form that are further described below in the Detailed Description. This Summary is not intended to identify key or essential features of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended to be used as an aid in determining the scope of the claimed subject matter.
[07] Accordingly, the present invention provides a vehicle, comprising a body frame rotatably supporting at least one front ground engaging member and at least one rear ground engaging member. The vehicle further comprises a first body cover removably coupled to the body frame and a second body cover removably coupled to the body frame. In an embodiment of the invention, the first body cover comprises a first underside which is removably coupled to the body frame and the second body cover comprises a second underside which is removably coupled to the body frame. The first body cover in an attached state to the body frame serves to hide the body frame in a first side view of the vehicle while the second body cover in an attached state to the body frame serves to hide the body frame in a second side view of the vehicle. The vehicle further comprises at least one seat unit supported by the body frame. In an embodiment of the invention, the at least one seat unit is adapted to be maintained in at least one of a first state and a second state with respect to the body frame. The at least one seat unit prohibits access to the first underside of the first body cover and the second underside of the second body cover in the first state while allows access to the first underside of the first body cover and the second underside of the second body cover in a second state. In an embodiment of the invention, at least one of the first underside of the first body cover and the second underside of the second body cover comprises a first attachment provision for removably receiving a USB terminal unit.
[08] In an embodiment of the invention, the at least one seat unit comprises a first zone providing seating arrangement for a first occupant; a second zone providing seating arrangement for a second occupant.
[09] In another embodiment of the invention, the first zone is spaced apart from the second zone along a vehicle length direction.
[010] In yet another embodiment of the invention, the at least one seat unit comprises a third zone overlapping at least partly with the first zone and overlapping at least partly with the second zone in a top view of the vehicle.
[011] In still another embodiment of the invention, the first attachment provision is provided on at least one of the first underside of the first body cover and the second underside of the second body cover so as to overlap with the third zone in a top view of the vehicle.
[012] In a further embodiment of the invention, the third zone overlaps the first zone by a length less than 50% of a length of the first zone, the length being along the vehicle length direction.
[013] In a furthermore embodiment of the invention, the third zone overlaps the second zone by a length less than 50% of a length of the second zone, the length being along the vehicle length direction.
[014] In an embodiment of the invention, the first body cover comprises a first top edge comprising a first recessed portion, the first recessed portion overlapping at least partly the third zone in a top view of the vehicle. The first recessed portion allows a wire to traverse from a portion external to the first underside of the first body cover to the first underside of the first body cover while the at least one seat unit is maintained in the first state and be connected to the USB terminal unit.
[015] In another embodiment of the invention, the second body cover comprises a second top edge comprising a second recessed portion, the second recessed portion overlapping at least partly the third zone in a top view of the vehicle. The second recessed portion allows a wire to traverse from a portion external to the second underside of the second body cover to the second underside of the second body cover while the at least one seat unit is maintained in the first state and be connected to the USB terminal unit.
[016] In yet another embodiment of the invention, the first recessed portion provided on the first top edge of the first body cover has a shape selected from at least one of a half elliptical shape, a parabolic shape, and a rectangle.
[017] In still another embodiment of the invention, the second recessed portion provided on the second top edge of the second body cover has a shape selected from at least one of a half elliptical shape, a parabolic shape, and a rectangle.
[018] In a further embodiment of the invention, the USB terminal unit comprises a port for removably receiving the wire, and a closure structure for restricting access to the port in a third state and allowing access to the port in a fourth state.
