Abstract: ABSTRACT WATERPROOFING COATING COMPOSITION The present disclosure provides a coating composition comprising: (a) 50-60 % by weight of a styrene acrylic emulsion; (b) 0.1-1% by weight of a functionalized silane; (c) 4-8% by weight of at least one pigment; (d) 15-25% by weight of at least 5 one extender; (e) 0.05-0.3 % by weight of polyacrylonitrile fibre; and (f) 2-4% by weight of at least one performance additive. The present disclosure further provides a process of preparing the coating composition as disclosed herein. 27

FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] The present disclosure broadly relates to the field of coating composition.
In particular, the present disclosure relates to waterproofing coating compositions.
The present disclosure further relates to single coat waterproofing coating
5 compositions and process of preparing the waterproofing coating composition.
I/We Claim:
1. A coating composition comprising:
(a) 50-60% by weight of a styrene acrylic emulsion;
(b) 0.1-1% by weight of a functionalized silane;
5 (c) 4-8% by weight of at least one pigment;
(d) 15-25% by weight of at least one extender;
(e) 0.05-0.3% by weight of polyacrylonitrile fibre; and
(f) 2-4% by weight of at least one performance additive.
2. The coating composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the styrene acrylic
10 emulsion is derivable by polymerisation of a monomer mixture comprising one
or more of methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, 2-
ethylhexyl acrylate, t-butyl methacrylate, methacrylic acid and one or more of
optionally substituted styrene comonomers.
3. The coating composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the functionalized
15 silane is an epoxy functionalized silane.
4. The coating composition as claimed in claim 3, wherein the epoxy
functionalized silane is selected from methoxy terminated silane or ethoxy
terminated silane.
5. The coating composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least one
20 pigment is selected from TiO2, carbon black, phthalocyanine blue, red oxide,
yellow oxide, or combinations thereof.
6. The coating composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one extender
is selected from talc, marble powder, silicate, or combinations thereof.
7. The coating composition as claimed in claim 6, wherein the marble powder is
25 in a weight percentage in the range of 6.0 to 12 % with respect to the total weight
of the composition.
