Abstract: The invention relates to concentrated and super-concentrated liquid laundry detergent composition (i.e., premix) suitable for dilution or reconstitution with water. Disclosed is a liquid detergent composition comprising: a) 60 to 95 wt% active detergent consisting of: i) a linear alkyl benzene sulphonate having ammoniacal counterion; and, ii) a nonionic surfactant; where ratio of the linear alkyl benzene sulphonate to the nonionic surfactant is 1:1 to 6:1 parts by weight; b) 2 to 10 wt% of a hydrophilic solvent selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, sorbitol and glycerol; and, c) 1 to 25 wt% water; wherein, said composition is free of soap, linear alkyl benzene sulphonate having alkali metal counterion, and sulphated anionic surfactant.
I/WE CLAIM
1) A liquid detergent composition comprising:
a) 60 to 95 wt% active detergent consisting of:
i) a linear alkyl benzene sulphonate having ammoniacal counterion;
and,
ii) a nonionic surfactant;
where ratio of the linear alkyl benzene sulphonate to the nonionic surfactant
is 1:1 to 6:1 parts by weight;
b) 2 to 10 wt% of a hydrophilic solvent selected from the group consisting of
ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol,
sorbitol and glycerol; and,
c) 1 to 25 wt% water;
wherein,
said composition is free of soap, linear alkyl benzene sulphonate having alkali
metal counterion, and sulphated anionic surfactant.
2) A liquid detergent composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein said ratio is 1.5:1 to
6:1.
3) A liquid detergent composition as claimed in claim 1 or 2 wherein viscosity of said
composition is 400 to 5000 mPa.s at 25°C at a shear rate of 21 sec-1
.
4) A liquid detergent composition as claimed in any of claims 1 to 3 wherein dilution of
1 part by volume of said composition with five parts by volume water forms a laundry
liquid detergent composition having viscosity of 50 to 1000 mPa.s when measured
at 25°C and at 106 s-1
.
5) A liquid detergent composition as claimed in any of claims 1 to 4 wherein said
ammoniacal counterion is ammonium, isopropylamine, monoethanolamine, (MEA),
diethanolamine (DEA) or triethanolamine (TEA).
6) A liquid detergent composition as claimed in any of claims 1 to 5 wherein said
nonionic surfactant is selected from the group consisting of fatty alcohol ethoxylates;
fatty acid ethoxylates; alkyl phenol ethoxylates; fatty monoglyceride ethoxylates;
block copolymers; ethoxylated amines; alkyl amine oxides; mono or poly saccharide
alkyl ethers; propoxylated and ethoxylated fatty alcohols; propoxylated and

ethoxylated fatty acids; propoxylated and ethoxylated alkyl phenols; ether terminated
ethoxylates of fatty acid and fatty alcohols; fatty acid glucamides; alkyl
