BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION:
[0002] Infrastructure monitoring is the process of collecting and analysing data from every system, application, and process of the infrastructure of any establishment. The main purpose of monitoring is for business continuity or improvement of processes.
[0003] Examples of such establishments include financial institutions, large shops or malls, warehouses, data centre, banks, IT companies, offices and so on. Such establishments may have air conditioners, UPS systems, printers, computer servers, lighting controllers, security systems, freezers, refrigerators, pumps, and other such equipment, just to name a few. Such systems and devices are referred to as hosts, hereinafter. 1. An IoT based monitoring device (102) for monitoring infrastructure, the IoT based monitoring device (102) comprising:
a network interface module (270) configured for communicating with one or more devices connected to a network; and
a controller (220) communicatively connected a memory module (225), wherein the controller (220) is configured for:
receiving, through the network interface module (270), one or more values of one or more parameters of the one or more devices connected to the network;
comparing the value of the one or more parameters of the one or more devices with one or more predefined threshold values of the corresponding one or more parameters,
determining at least one active communication network among a plurality of communication networks (222, 270), and
based on a result of the comparison, communicating one or more of a received value of the parameter and alerts to one or more predefined user devices through the at least one active communication networks (222, 270).
