Abstract: A sucking and catching device (50) included in a pneumatic spinning machine (1) includes: a sucking and catching piping (61A) extending from a base end (61Aa) to a tip end (61Ab), the base end (61Aa) being a connection part to a suction duct (41), suction air flowing from the tip end (61Ab) toward the base end (61Aa); a sucking and catching port (51) formed in the tip end (61Ab) of the sucking and catching piping (61A); a holding part (70) configured to hold, within the sucking and catching piping (61A), yarn (Y) suctioned from the sucking and catching port (51); and a cutter (85) configured to cut, within the sucking and catching piping (61A), the yarn (Y) suctioned from the sucking and catching port (51). In the direction of suction air flow, the holding part (70), the cutter (85) and the base end (61Aa) are arranged on the downstream side from the first suction port (51) in this order.
